Everything you need to do to get the True Ending in Black Myth: Wukong.
Black Myth: Wukong is full of secrets for you to find and hidden areas to explore. Moreover, it has a second and “True Ending”.
While getting the first ending is straightforward, which only requires you to play through and beat the game as you would. The second ending is more difficult and complex to get.
To get the secret true ending, you have to complete 4 secret areas, the Ancient Guanyin Temple, Kingdom of Sahali, Purple Cloud Mountain, and Bishui Cave. All of which you need to unlock through convoluted and tough objectives and questlines.
Furthermore, you’ll need to complete the Treasure Hunter questline and beat the Green Capped Martialist.
After all that, you’ll unlock a secret boss in Chapter 6, who you’ll need to beat before the final boss to unlock the true ending.

How to clear the Ancient Guanyin Temple (Chapter 1)
To unlock the Ancient Guanyiin Temple area, you’ll need to ring three bells in Chapter 1.

| Bell #2 | In Bamboo Grove, Behind the Guangmou boss fight. |
| Bell #3 | In Bamboo Grove, next to the Whiteclad Noble boss arena, behind a narrow opening in the wall. |
It does not matter which order you ring the bells in, but after the final bell, you’ll be transported to the Ancient Guanyin Temple secret area.
To clear this secret area, you’ll need to defeat the Elder Jinchi Boss. After defeating the boss, go back to the bell next to Whiteclad Noble boss arena. Then, interact with the dead fox hanging from the tree.
How to clear Kingdom of Sahali (Chapter 2)
To access Kingdom of Sahali, you’ll need to complete the drunken boar’s questline. Here’s a short walkthrough to complete this questline:
- Talk to the Yellow-Robed Squire (drunken boar), near Rockrest Flat, in the Fright Cliff Region.
- Find or buy a Sobering Stone in the Windrest Hamlet.
- Give the Sobering Stone to the drunken boar.
- Find the drunken boar at the Crouching Tiger Temple entrance, he’ll be upstairs on the right.
- Buy Jade Lotus at a Shrine and give it to the drunken boar.
- Go back to Rockrest Flat, where you first met the drunken boar.
- Fight the drunken boar to access the Kingdom of Sahali.
After entering the Kingdom of Sahali, you’ll need to defeat two bosses, the Tiger Vanguard and Fuban. This will complete the secret area.
Completing the Treasure Hunt Quest (Chapter 3)
To start this quest, go to the “North Shore of the Bitter Lake” Keeper’s Shrine in the Bitter Lake area. From there, turn your back to the shrine and follow the path along the shoreline to the right. After some time, you’ll see an NPC under attack by some enemies.
Defeat the enemies and speak to the NPC, who is the treasure hunter. Exhaust all his dialogue, then go to the Towers of Karma Shrine in the Valley of Ecstasy. He’ll be on the right side of the path ahead of the Shrine. There, he’ll be complaining about the cold.
Equip the Ring of Fire spell and use it in front of him to warm him up. After talking to him, fast travel to the Forest of Felicity.
From the Shrine, walk down the hill to your right. When you reach the road, turn left and after crossing the small lake, drop down the ledge behind the frozen monks. Keep going to reach the Melon Field Shrine.
Next to the Shrine, you’ll find the Green-Capped Martialist Boss’s Arena. Defeat this boss to complete the questline.
How to clear Purple Cloud Mountain (Chapter 4)
To access Purple Cloud Mountain, you’ll need to beat the Venom Daoist Boss twice. Once at the Upper Hollow, and again at the Temple of Yellow Flowers.
To find his first location, go to the Pool of Shattered Jade Shrine. From there, go around the corner to the right, and after passing through the cocoons you’ll reach and old building with a singular large cocoon. Hit the Cocoon until the Venom Daoist comes out.
Next, travel to the Court of Illumination Shrine. Pass through the gate in the yellow wall opposite the Shrine and keep going straight ahead until you’re outside the temple grounds. From there, follow the path to the mountain.
At the highest point, before reaching the old shack, turn left and drop down the slope; this will lead you into the Venom Daoist’s lair.
After defeating the Venom Daoist for the second time, interact with the colorful mural. This will take you to the Purple Cloud Mountain.
To clear Purple Cloud Mountain, you’ll need to fight your way up the mountain and beat the Scorpionlord, Daoist Mi, and Duskveil bosses.
How to Clear Bishui Cave (Chapter 5)
- In the village with the enemies, just after the Ashen Pass 1 Shrine, defeat the large axe-wielding bull and speak to him. He’ll introduce himself as the Pale Axe Stalwart.
- Continue on the main path until you reach the Ashen Pass 2 Shrine. Beat Brown Iron Cart and the Gray Bronze Cart.
- Return to the village and speak with the Pale Axe Stalwart.
- Continue on the main path again and beat Crimson Silver Cart.
- Take a u-turn from the Fallen Furnace Crater and walk back the way you came until you come across a path on the left side leading down. Follow that path until you reach the “Cooling Slope” Shrine.
- Go past the Shrine and beat the Rusty Gold Cart.
- Speak with the Pale Axe Stalwart again.
- Enter Bishui Cave through the large door behind the Rusty Gold Cart’s Arena.
To clear Bishui Cave, you’ll need to beat the Top Takes Bottom, Bottom Takes Top boss as well as the Bishui Golden-Eyed Beast.
Finding Mount Mei (Chapter 6 Secret Boss)
After clearing every secret area and boss from Chapters 1-5, you can fight the secret boss in Chapter 6.
To do so, fast travel to the Great Pagoda Shrine. From there, walk to the highest part of the room behind the Great Pagoda Shrine. This will trigger a cutscene.
After the cutscene, you will be taken to the Mount Mei area. Follow the path to the top of the mountain to fight Erlang, the secret boss.
This boss fight has three phases, where you’ll fight Erlang, then the Four Heavenly Kings, and then Erlang in lion form.
After the boss fight is done, you’ll return to the Great Pagoda. Continue on with the game, and after beating the final boss, you’ll get the true ending,
