Learn how to unlock the Illithid Power Skill Tree in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Larian Studio released Baldur’s Gate 3 as the latest edition of the famous RPG series. The game features an exciting storyline for the players, including the mind-flayer tadpole inside your character’s brain. While this can be deemed a problem, the tadpole also provides some hidden power to your character.

Illithid powers in Baldur’s Gate 3 need to be unlocked by completing different tasks in the game. You will be required to pass a lot of skill checks in the process of obtaining these powers. However, these powers can be divided into skill trees, and each can be unlocked separately by passing skill trees.

Unlock the Illithid Power Skill Tree in BG3

The Illithid Power Skill Tree refers to a skill tree that is divided into portions of the character’s brain. The player’s goal is to unlock each part of the brain, which represents a different kind of skill. Each brain will start with five branches: manipulation, health restoration, psionics, and more. These can be further unlocked and increased through leveling up by using Experience Points.

The process to unlock the Illithid Power Skill Tree is relatively easy. If you complete three Illithid skill checks in a row, you will be able to unlock the skill tree. After passing three consecutive skill checks, head back to the camp and take a long rest. In your sleep, you will be visited by an NPC called The Guardian, who will guide you to unlock the Illithid Power Skill Tree.

There are different kinds of Illithid Powers, for example, Psionic Overload, Transfuse Health, Luck of the Far Realms, Cull the Weak, Repulsor, Perilous Stakes, Stage Fright, and many more. These powers can be unlocked through the Skill Tree and by bypassing skill checks.
