Kar98K is one of the most picked weapons in Call of Duty: Warzone since its launch on March 10, 2020. Here is an in-depth guide on how to choose the best loadout for the Kar98K in Warzone pacific.

Kar98k lives up to its hype; there are currently two variants of Kar98K in the game. The Kar98k from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) is comparatively better than the Kar98k from Call of Duty: Vanguard (2021).

Although it is a marksman rifle, it can easily go head to head with stronger sniper rifles with no problem at all. It has a faster rate of fire, aim-down sight speed, and mobility.

How to unlock the Kar98k in CoD Warzone

The Kar98k is part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s weapon pool. It is a marksman rifle, an unlockable weapon available after reaching level 33. It is part of the post-launch weapon line available to all players from day one.

The best tip to leveling up in Call of Duty: Warzone is to spend more time in-game. Experience (XP) system in Warzone is pretty straightforward. The more time you spend in-game, the more XP you will gain. Additionally, completing daily and weekly challenges will provide extra XP, which will be helpful to level it up faster.

Best Kar98k Loadout

Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor (Unlocks at weapon level 33)
Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″ (Unlocks at weapon level 45)
Optic: Sniper Scope (Unlocks at weapon level 19)
Stock: FTAC Sport Comb (Unlocks at weapon level 43)
Laser: Tac Laser (Unlocks at weapon level 27)

Anyone familiar with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s weapon pool should know how robust the monolithic suppressor is, no matter the weapon. It makes any weapon more viable in long-range gunfights with the added power. The only downside to using the monolithic suppressor is the decreased walking speed while aiming and reduced ADS(aim down sight) speed.

Likewise, the Singuard Custom 27.6″ is the barrel to go for the Kar98k. It will significantly increase damage range, bullet velocity, and recoil control. However, the only negative side is the reduced aim down sight speed and movement speed that will be negated later with other attachments.

The tac laser comes in clutch with this loadout, providing increased ADS(aim down sight) speed and stability while walking. Using a tac laser might sound like a dumb idea to many players; still, it is worth the shot. It compensates for the lost ADS(aim down sight) speed on the other significant attachments.

Sniper scope is the signature optic for Kar98k. It keeps everything in the loadout together, bringing out the more powerful side of the marksman rifle.

Ultimately, FTAC Sport Comb is the immaculate stock for the marksman rifle; it makes the weapon more stable while aiming down the sights. This stock trades aim stability for a faster ADS(aim down sight) speed. Upon completion, the loadout will have a super-fast aim down sight speed, enabling players to utilize the actual potential of the marksman rifle. With this stock, long-range shots will be much more precise.

Best Equipment & Perks for Kar98k Loadout

  • Secondary: Cooper Carbine (Vanguard), Vargo 52 (Vanguard), or MP-40 (Vanguard)
  • Tactical: Stim (Modern Warfare), or Heartbeat Sensor (Modern Warfare)
  • Lethal: Throwing knives (Modern Warfare), or Claymore (Modern Warfare)
  • Perk – 1: Quick Fix, or E.O.D
  • Perk – 2: Overkill
  • Perk – 3: Amped, or Combat Scout

Quick Fix is the ideal perk for players constantly engaging in gunfights, enabling health regeneration when an enemy is killed. Opting for E.O.D is also feasible to take less damage from non-killstreak explosives and fire.

Overkill as the second perk is a must; it will allow players to carry an extra primary weapon in the secondary slot. Pairing Cooper Carbine or Vargo 52 with a marksman rifle will make the loadout more potent, and the secondary will help in handling both short to mid-distance gunfights with ease.

To swap between the weapons faster, Amped is the go-to. Faster switching between weapons will help in getting an edge over other players. Combat scout briefly highlights the whole team when an enemy player is shot.

Cooper Carbine is the best assault rifle in Warzone at the moment. It is viable for close-range to long-range fights with ease. Vargo 52 is a newer weapon that is finding its way into the meta; with a fast fire rate, it is an excellent pick for mid-range gunfights.

As for tactical, stim gives an instant health regeneration upon use. Heartbeat sensor can help track other players roaming nearby and plan the next gunfight strategy. Throwing knives as lethal can be a backup in a close gunfight; it has a one-shot potential on players with a minimal level of armor. Claymore can be opted out for throwing knives to watch flank when stationary.

All the latest Kar98k Buffs & Nerfs

Kar98k hasn’t been buffed or nerfed significantly. The last nerf to Kar98k came out with the December 9 update when the map Caldera was released.

The nerf decreased its flinch resistance; it was a part of the Warzone gun balancing update. However, the popularity of the marksman rifle remained the same. Kar98k is perfect in its current state, and it is neither overpowered nor underpowered.

Other Alternatives to the Kar98k in the Current Meta

Swiss K31 (Cold War) is the next best choice in the sniper rifle category. But for day one players, HDR (Modern Warfare) can be a great option; it is one of the strongest rifles in Call of Duty: Warzone. However, both are slower than Kar98k in ADS(aim down sight) speed and mobility.
