How to Get the Moon Lantern in Baldur’s Gate 3
Convince or Kill Kar’niss
While traveling through the Underdark, the Harpers will tell that you can get a Moon Lantern from Kar’niss. After successfully finding Kar’niss, you can either convince him to hand over the Moon Lantern to you. If you fail to convince the goblin leader, he will become hostile towards you, leading to a fight. Finishing off Kar’niss will result in him dropping the Moon Lantern on the ground for you. However, this Moon Lantern will be broken, which means it is useless to you.
Visit Balthazar’s Room
Another way to get the Moon Lantern is by visiting Balthazar’s Room in the Moonrise Tower. At some point in Act 2, you will be required to visit this area, as the whole story of this act revolves around this tower. After reaching Balthazar’s Room, look around in his room.
You will hear a voice asking for help. Explore the location of the voice, and you will come across a Moon Lantern with a Pixie stuck inside it. At this point, you will be required to complete a skill check, where you can either keep the Pixie stuck inside the Moon Lantern or let her go.
