How to solve the seashell riddle in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
Though Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ main story and questline is quite big in and of itself, taking around 30 hours to beat, the game is filled with tons of side activities and content, and there isn’t a shortage of things to do outside of the main story.
In addition to side quests, there are numerous side activities that will pop up all around the map, including riddles.
Yasuke and Naoe will receive numerous riddles from various NPCs and one such riddle is the seashell riddle, usually received by Naoe in the Katano region.
In this article, we take a look at the Seashell Riddle, how to get it, its solution, and the rewards you get for solving it.
Seashell Riddle
Seashell Riddle Location
This riddle is given to you by an old noblewoman Katano Kakurega Hideout. It is in the northern section of Katano, which is north of Osaka in the Izumi Settsu region.
However, keep in mind that this is a random event, and she does not always appear. She might even appear in other areas, but to keep the chances of this event high, you should stay around Katano.
Moreover, her appearance might differ each time you encounter her, so keep your ears open when you’re near the hideout to hear her call out to you.
Seashell Riddle Solution
The noblewoman will then show you her seashells and then ask: ‘If you are so clever, then answer this. Which province does the seashell come from?’
You’ll have three answers to choose from:
- It must be from Omi.
- It is from Kyoto.
- I believe it’s from Wakasa.
The correct answer is “I believe it’s from Wakasa”, as Wasaka is the only province out of the three that is close to the sea.
Seashell Riddle Rewards
If you answer correctly, you’ll get to choose between Scout Intel (to replenish a scout) or a World Rumor in the nearby area.
Since, replenishing scouts isn’t that expensive anyway (200 Mon), you should go for the World Rumor.
If you’re in the Katano area, you’ll most likely get the “Butterfly Collector” World Rumor, though this is randomized as well. If you find the noblewoman in another area, you’ll get a different World Rumor as a reward.
