How to find every Shrine in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
There are many landmarks and locations you can visit in Assassin’s Creed Shadows while playing through main story missions, side quests, or just free roaming around the map.
You can also explore each region after the opening missions, though you might want to hold off on doing so, as some regions have higher-level enemies than others.
Moreover, exploring can be very rewarding, as you can find strong gear, get XP and knowledge points, or just come across some beautiful spots.
Shrines are one type of landmark you can visit in Assassin’s Creed shadows, and visiting and praying at shrines are very rewarding as its rewards you with XP and Knowledge points.
What are Shrines
Praying at a Shrine rewards you with 500 XP and +1 Knowledge Point. You can use Knowledge points to increase your Knowledge Rank and unlock powerfull skills.
Once you enter the area of a Shrine, a tooltip will appear showing the number of Shrines within that area. Use the Observe action by holding L2/LT (or the Right Mouse Button if you’re on PC), and follow the white dots that appear to find the Shrines.
Keep in mind that some Shrines will have hostiles patrolling the area, and you’ll need to clear them out before you can pray there.

Izumi Settsu Shrine Locations
Sumiyoshi Shrine
- Location:
- South of Osaka just before the wide river that goes around the city.
Nishinomiya Shrine
- Location:
- West of Amagasaki, just before the forest in Nakayama Peak.
Yamashiro Shrine Locations
Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine
- Location:
- Move along the river inside Izumi to the north. The shrine is located on the west of Ogura Pond, an island on the south of Yamashiro
Kamigamo Shrine
- Location:
- Follow the big bridge from the northern gate of Kyoto to reach this shrine.
Gion Shrine
- Location:
- Starting from the middle of Kyoto, move east and over the river. The shrine is northwest of Hills of Meeting on a hill next to the main road.
Harima Shrine Locations
Kaya Shrine
- Location:
- Just before the small river, northwest of Harima, to the west of Mount Kasagata.
Itatehyozu Shrine
- Location:
- On the outskirts of Hijemi, just before the main gates.
Ishinohoden Shrine
- Location:
- Northwest of Kakogawa Estuary, in the middle of a forest just before Himeji.
Takasago Shrine
- Location:
- In the southern part of Kakogawa Estuary, west of Amagasaki.
Tamba Shrine Locations
Atago Shrine
- Location:
- In the eastern part of Tampa, north from Kameyema and right next to the Tamba Highlands.
Onitake Shrine
- Location:
- In the northern side of Tamba, right next to the middle of the road that connects Fukuchiyama and Miyazu Bay.
Yamato Shrine Locations
Hinode Shrine
- Location:
- Northeast of Todaiji, next to the Yamashiro-Yamato border.
Kasugataisha Shrine
- Location:
- Southeast of Todaiji.
Omiwa Shrine
- Location:
- Near the middle of Yamato, to the Southeast of Nara Heartland.
Niukawakami Shrine
- Location:
- In the southeastern part of Yamato, below the big river, northeast of Yoshino.
Iga Shrine Locations
Aekuni Shrine
- Location:
- In the northern part of Ichinomiya, a village in the north of Iga, soutwest to Mibuno Vale.
Kasuga Shrine
- Location:
- West of Mibuno Vale, right next to the wide river, to the north Aekuni Shrine.
Omi Shrine Locations
Shirahige Shrine
- Location:
- South of Ado River Valley, adjacent to the big river.
Nagahama Hachimangu Shrine
- Location:
- Just north of Nagahama, beyond the farmlands, among the trees.
Wakasa Shrine Locations
Wakasahiko Shrine
- Location:
- Between the two rivers to the south of Obama, a city on the western coast of Wakasa.
Jogu Shrine
- Location:
- Right along the coastline, northwest of Sotomo Gate, a city in the northernmost part of Wasaka.
Kii Shrine Locations
Tokei Shrine
- Location:
- In the southern part of Kii, northeast of small village next to the ocean between the Sazae Oni Shores and Nakahechi Route
Takahara Kumano Shrine
- Location:
- In the southern entrance of the village located right where the Nakahechi Route name is shown on the map.
Kumano Hongu Taisha
- Location:
- In an area surrounded by rivers, east of Koyasan and northwest of Kumano Sanzan.
Kumano Nachi Taisha
- Location:
- Hidden among the trees to the southeast of Kumano Sanzan, right before the shores.
Kamikura Shrine
- Location:
- East of Kumano Sanzan, on the eastern coast. It is very close to the ocean.
Kumano Hayatama Taisha
- Location:
- Directly north of the Kamikura shrine, right next to the big river.
