Wondering how big As Dusk Falls is? Then, keep reading to learn how many chapters there are in the game and how long it takes to beat.

As Dusk Falls is the latest decision-interactive crime thriller videogame from INTERIOR/NIGHT. If you’re unfamiliar with the developer, then you’ll be delighted to know that the company was founded by former Quantic Dream employee Caroline Marchal, who was the lead game designer of hit decision interactive titles such as Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls.

It is largely why you’ll see As Dusk Falls bearing resemblance to those two games. The story of As Dusk Falls begins in the late ’90s and unfolds over the next 30 years. The game features two families – Holt and Walker – whose stories are told parallelly.

The story starts off with a robbery gone wrong in a small town in Arizona in 1998. And the choices you make throughout the game determine the fate of your characters. In As Dusk Falls, you will get to experience the long-lasting effects of trauma and how the two families navigate through hardships resulting from their ancestors’ mistakes.

With that said, you can replay chapters over and over again to see how different decisions result in vastly different outcomes. In this guide, we will go over all the chapters in As Dusk Falls and explain how long it takes to beat the game.

All Chapters in As Dusk Falls

There are a total of six chapters in the game. These chapters are further divided into two Books, each comprising three chapters.

  • Book 1: Collision
    • Desert Dream
    • Economics 101
    • Small Seconds
  • Book 2: Expansion
    • Shimá
    • Paradise Found
    • Cascade

Total Duration of As Dusk Falls

Since the game has six chapters, each of these chapters takes around an hour to complete. So, it should take you somewhere around six to seven hours to complete the story in a single playthrough. However, the game allows players to replay chapters to experience different story outcomes through its “Explore Story Tree” feature. So, the game does have some replay value.

Moreover, if you are a completionist who wants to complete the entire flowchart of every possible outcome, it can take around twenty hours to complete the game. Not to mention, the game also offers a co-op mode where you can experience the story with up to 8 players, both locally and online. You can use the As Dusk Falls companion app to vote for different decisions with your friends.

As Dusk Falls is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
