Riot Games has announced that the Arena game mode will be coming to Wild Rift.
There are currently 2 main game modes in League of Legends and Wild Rift. They are Summoner’s’ Rift and ARAM (Howling Abyss). Even though other limited-time game modes appear occasionally, these limited modes are very simple in concept and take place in Summoner’s’ Rift.
Back in PC League of Legends, there used to be game modes with unique maps like Twisted Treeline, Dominion, and Nexus Blitz. But most of them got removed due to having a low player base. On the other hand, Nexus Blitz was removed for being a limited-time mode.
And since we didn’t get any game mode in a few years, Riot ended up releasing a new game mode for PC called Arena.
This new game mode featured completely unique formatting, new maps, new mechanics, etc. Both casual and try-hard players enjoyed this game mode. Because of its popularity, Riot is now bringing it on Wild Rift in the upcoming patch.

Wild Rift: Arena Gamemode
Arena is the upcoming game mode for Wild Rift. It is a unique game mode as it is not similar to the traditional League of Legends. Firstly, this game mode features 4 teams with two players each, and the last team surviving wins.
In terms of items, this game mode is different from normal, as you don’t buy the component. Instead, you buy the full items, and all the items cost the same.
Moreover, runes are disabled in this game mode. Instead, they are replaced by augments. Augments are buffs that players can choose to gain unique benefits that will last the entire match. These buffs could range from giving bonus damage to giving yourself a free ability.
There are also new in-game events called cameos that will occur randomly in a match. During a cameo, a neutral champion will appear and try to help or disrupt the players with their abilities. For example, Pyke will stun the players, Sett will deal massive damage, etc.
The Arena game mode will be released on Wild Rift on patch 4.4, scheduled for October 24, 2023.
