Frostbite can drain your HP in seconds; here’s how to cure Cold Snap in ARC Raiders using shelter, healing items, and a few clever tricks.
In ARC Raiders, Frostbite is a persistent environmental threat that gradually depletes your health when you encounter freezing conditions. While it may seem manageable at first, staying out in the cold too long can quickly overwhelm your healing supplies and ruin an expedition. Fortunately, there are several reliable ways to cure frostbite and even a few unconventional ones.
Using Healing Items
The most immediate way to deal with frostbite is to constantly heal through the damage. Items like bandages, herbal bandages, sterilized bandages, Vita Shots, and Vita Spray can keep your HP topped up while you’re exposed to the cold.
However, this is only a short-term solution. Frostbite applies damage ticks every second, meaning your health will continue to drop as long as you remain out in the cold. Relying purely on healing items can quickly burn through your inventory, especially during longer runs.
Take Shelter
The intended and most effective way to cure frostbite in ARC Raiders is to take shelter inside a building or structure with a roof. Once you’re in a warm area, your Raider will give an audible sigh of relief, signaling that frostbite buildup has stopped.
When you step back outside in the cold, your Raider will gasp in discomfort, indicating that Cold Snap has started building again. Because your HP may already be low from earlier damage ticks, it’s important to heal up while sheltered before heading back out.
Using the Combat MK.2 Augment for Passive Recovery
Equipping the Combat MK.2 Augment can make Frostbite far more manageable. This augment passively regenerates one HP every five seconds, as long as you’re not taking damage. Since frostbite ticks count as damage, the regeneration only works once you’re safely sheltered.
This makes the augment extremely useful for recovering lost HP indoors, helping you conserve valuable healing items between trips into cold zones.
The Emergency Trick: Setting Yourself on Fire
The final method is setting yourself on fire. Activating a Baron Husk and stepping into its flames, or using fire-based throwables like a Blaze Grenade or Fireball Burner, will instantly remove Frostbite damage ticks.
Once the fire extinguishes itself, quickly use healing items and a shield recharger to recover the lost HP. This approach, though counterintuitive, enables you to move farther through cold climates without having to seek shelter right away.
