ARC Raiders is heading toward film and television. Nexon has partnered with Chernin Entertainment to develop screen adaptations of Embark Studios’ extraction shooter, with The Finals also included in the deal. Variety reported the news, and Nexon has confirmed the partnership.
In brief:
- Chernin Entertainment will lead development of adaptations based on ARC Raiders and The Finals.
- Embark’s creative teams will work closely with the production company.
- The exact formats and release dates remain unannounced.
Chernin Entertainment Takes On ARC Raiders Adaptations

Chernin was selected from several production companies and studios competing for the rights. Its credits include the Planet of the Apes films, Ford v Ferrari and The Greatest Showman, giving the project a producer with plenty of experience handling large film productions.
Embark will also have a role in shaping the adaptations. Founder and CEO Patrick Söderlund said the studio’s creative teams will collaborate with Chernin to carry the identity of both games into other formats.
Chernin film president David Ready sees potential for both properties to become major film and television franchises. His comments focused on the stories that could be told within the worlds Embark has built.
What Could an ARC Raiders Movie or Series Explore?

ARC Raiders takes place on a future Earth threatened by machines known as ARC. Players scavenge for supplies while dealing with those machines and rival Raiders. Nexon says the game has now sold more than 16 million copies worldwide.
Obviously, that setting offers plenty of room for a survival story. An adaptation could follow a group heading out for supplies, explore tensions between Raiders, or spend more time with the people trying to build a life around the danger. Those are possible directions, with story details still to come.
Does the ARC Raiders Adaptation Have a Release Date?
There’s no announced release date. The deal covers film and television, but the exact split between ARC Raiders and The Finals remains unclear, including whether each game will receive both a movie and a series.
Casting, story announcements, and a release schedule will give us a clearer picture of what’s coming. We’ll report on new developments as soon as they make official announcements.
