With the release of Apex Legends season 4, there have been some huge changes in terms of weapon balancing. This has affected the current weapons meta in an interesting way.

Sentinel, the new bolt action weapon is really fun to use with a charge mechanic for a potential “Disruptor rounds” for innovative uses. This list is rather for returning players who want to know how this new season has changed their favorite loadouts.

Is your preferred loadout still in the current meta? This list will help you decide that on your own. Just remember this tier list is for the current meta in Season 4 and is really subjective, with further buffs and nerfs this list will also change.

S-Tier Weapons

Kraber .50-cal

Kraber .50-cal

This is the most powerful sniper in the arena. This weapon is the care package drop for a reason. One headshot from this will knock you immediately regardless of your armor level. Although with all the buffs to Gibby and Custic body shot will do only 99 damage depending on where you hit. Even after that, this is an S-tier Weapon.

Mastiff

Mastiff

Mastiff doesn’t need any introduction. It is the most effective close-quarter weapon in the game. It has a massive body and headshot damage. As far as care package weapons are concerned this is definitely up there with Kraber.

Devotion

Devotion

Devotion received a wild card entry into the S-tier weapons. After analyzing player data Respawn came to the realization that a fully equipped Devotion is way better than L-Star. It now comes fully kitted and ready to destroy a whole squad with one clip.

A-Tier Weapons

R99

R99

R99 can easily be an S-tier weapon with a level 3 mag along with a gold stabilizer. Without a good stabilizer, this gun has a lot of recoils and can be hard to control. Time to kill on this weapon is its biggest advantage. It has the second-highest DPS in the game only second to the Devotion.

Peacekeeper

Peacekeeper

Even without all the attachment available, this gun can be really OP sometimes. While this gun has seen its share of buffs and nerfs. It is still the second-best shotgun in this game behind Mastiff. Although this gun was at one point in season three more effective than the Mastiff with six shots, in season 4 they nerfed it a little bit.

Prowler

Prowler

Prowler received a huge buff in the new season as both fire rate and the damage is increased. Even without the hop-up, this gun can do massive damage at close quarter fights. it even performs better with select-fire attachment.

Wingman

Wingman

Wingman received a big nerf in the new season as magazine size has been reduced even further than before. This weapon has been a long victim of Respawn’s balancing team. They seem to be nerfing with every update. Even after all the nerfs this pistol is still viable with its versatility.

B-Tier Weapons

G7 Scout

G7 Scout

G7 Scout in season three was definitely an S-tier weapon with increased fire rate and damage. Even without the double-tap hop-up, a level 3 sniper scope scout was on a different level. Respawn definitely took notice and made it into an assault rifle class weapon in the new season. They nerfed it into a B tier weapon but it still can be really effective.

R-301

R-301

R-301 has become kind of a b-tier after season one as R99 outclassed it in terms of time to kill. On the other hand, Flatline outclasses it in DPS. Both of them beat R-301 into a B-tier weapon. And worst of all single fire hop-up isn’t as useful as Reapwn wants you to think.

Flatline

Flatline

Flatline can be really effective at many ranges but the only thing that held it back is its recoil. It definitely heats harder than R-301 but the recoil can be a real pain sometimes. In the new season, Flatline can be viable if you are confident in your ability to handle its recoil.

C-Tier Weapons

EVA-8

EVA-8

EVA-8 is a good weapon but only for early game. In a world where peacekeeper exists Eva 8 can’t really hold a candle near it. With the hop-up double-tap, it can be more deadly at close range but the recoil becomes too annoying to control.

Longbow

Longbow

Longbow is in a decent place right now as a sniper rifle. With the addition of sniper rifle into the map, it drops to b-tier cause you can’t spam it as much as you would like. Since scull piercer is still not back into the game, it is mildly viable for now at least.

L-Star

L-Star

L-star became a widely available weapon in season 4. This is a powerful LMG that deals huge damage. The only problem with this weapon is its bullet travel time. It has a painfully slow travel time which really holds it back. Paired that with awful muzzle flash it can be really hard to see where you are shooting with this sometimes.

Sentinel

Sentinel

Sentinel brings something new to the arena as it can be charged up with a battery to deal significantly more damages to the shields. It also does good damage without charging it up making it a good value option for the new season.

Spitfire

Spitfire

This gun can wipe out an entire squad at the early game. And it still can be viable for late game. Since it shoots really slow compared to other weapons in the game, it drops to D-tier. Its only saving grace is its magazine size as sometimes with a level three heavy mag you can destroy a whole squad considering they miss their one clip. With it, you can only hold onto mouse one to win.

Hemlok

Hemlok

Hemlok saw some interesting changes in season 4 as they increased the single fire rate. This weapon has always been the number one choice for hackers for obvious reasons. Its burst fire deals massive damage and if you get headshots the outcome is decided really fast. Good aim is mandatory for headshots so its best for early to mid-game until you find something better. This always has been a mid-tier wepon.

D-Tier Weapons

Charge Rifle

Charge Rifle

Charge Rifle has seen its share of nerfs since season 3. As players complained about this heat scan weapon, it got nerfed over and over again to the point where it no longer as viable as it once was. You rarely see charge rifle Charlie anymore into the game.

Alternator

Alternator

The alternator is a great placeholder for an R99 or R-301 at this point. With Disruptor rounds out of the picture, this weapon can only be a viable choice early game. Although with its superior control it can deal some decent damage until you find something better.

RE-45

RE-45

RE-45 is only good for early games nothing more nothing less. Although it has good mobility and easy to control. As alternator exists in the game this weapon isn’t as viable without the addition of Disruptor rounds.

E-Tier Weapons

P2020

P2020

P2020 is not very effective even in the early game but if you find hammer pint hop-up it has the potential to become an S-tier weapon as it deals considerably more damage with that hop-up. In order to do that much damage, you have to break your opponent’s shield first. After that, you have the ability to become John Wick with this pistol. So, it can be really handy as a secondary option.

F-Tier Weapons

Mozambique

Mozambique

If you are familiar with Apex Legends you know what will be at the bottom of the list. It’s our favorite meme gun Mozambique. Back in 2019 when the game first released it became a meme on how weak and ineffective the weapon was. Sometimes it was better to hit your opponent with your bare hand than shooting this. With only hammer points it can be effective but you are probably better with using a P2020 with your hammer points instead.
