Worship Gods and gain their Powers to reign supreme in Age of Mythology: Retold.

In Age of Mythology, you cannot just go on to build and expand your empire, without seeking divine power since gods and monsters from all civilizations seek to spread their rule throughout the world. Thus, you must choose your God to worship when picking a civilization to play, to gain their favor and help through their godly powers to expand your empire. Or defeat another in battle.

There are thirteen Major Gods from four pantheons in Age of Mythology, each of them having powerful God Powers. These can include offensive bonuses, attacks to empire-building bonuses, unit bonuses, or enhanced defenses. Moreover, each Major God has two Minor Gods to choose from and Powers for advancing an Age – Classical, Heroic, and Mythic.

Egyptian Gods and Powers

Ptah: Shifting Sands – Teleports a group of units anywhere in the player’s line of sight.
Sobek: Locust Swarm- Summons hordes of Locusts to destroy enemy Farms and Fishing Ships, and damage all other targets in the direction of attack.
Sekhmet: Citadel – Transforms any owned or allied Town Center into a powerful fortress
Osiris: Son of Osiris – Turns the Pharaoh into a powerful, lightning-wielding demigod.
Horus: Tornado – Creates a cyclone that moves randomly, causing devastation to a large area. Can often weaken or destroy enemy towns
+15% Camel Rider, Chariot Archer, and War Elephant hit points.

Pharaoh-empowered Monuments empower nearby buildings (60% efficiency of Pharaohs).

Priests can empower (60% efficiency of Pharaohs).
Isis: Prosperity – Gold is mined at double speed for 50 seconds. This affects the player’s Villagers onlyBast: Eclipse – +50% attack and +20% speed for all myth units. Blocks other god powers for its duration.
Anubis: Plague of Serpents – Summons a group of serpents to defend an area.

Empowered Monuments also heal nearby units and generate favor 100% faster.
Set: Vision – Reveals a large area of the fog of war for 20 seconds.Anubis: Plague of Serpents – Summons a group of serpents to defend an area.
Ptah: Shifting Sands – Teleports a group of units anywhere in the player’s line of sight.
Nephtys: Ancestors – summons an army of undead Minions for a limited time to assist in attack or defense.

Barracks, Siege Works, and Migdol Strongholds cost -25% gold.

Monuments reduce the cost of units in nearby Barracks and Migdol Strongholds by 5%.

Greek Gods and Powers

Major God and PowerMinor God and PowerBonuses
Zeus: Bolt – Deals 10,000 divine damage to a single unit.Athena: Restoration – Restores hit points to all friendly units and buildings in a large target area for a short time.
Hermes: Ceasefire -This god power prevents combat anywhere on the map for a full minute, allowing perhaps a player to build more units to repel an attack, or hurry his army home to meet a new threat.
Apollo: Underworld Passage – Creates two portals anywhere on the map where the player has line of sight. Units entering one portal are instantly transported to the other.
Dionysus: Bronze – Turns the skin of all friendly human units in the target area to solid metal, increasing their armor.
Hephaestus: Plenty – creates a Plenty Vault that generates 15 Food, Wood, and Gold every 5 seconds. The vault is indestructible but can be captured if surrounded by enemy units.
Hera: Lightning Storm – Unleashes an electrical storm that devastates enemy units.
Starts with 10 favor
Gains favor 20% faster.

Myth units cost 1 less population.

Infantry does +50% damage to buildings.
Hoplites move 15% faster.
Hades: Sentinel – Creates five sentient statues around the target Town Center that attack any enemies within range.Athena: Restoration – Restores hit points to all friendly units and buildings in a large target area for a short time.
Ares: Pestilence- When used, Pestilence prevents enemy buildings within the target area from producing units for a short period. It does not affect technology research or other building functions.
Apollo: Underworld Passage – Creates two portals anywhere on the map where the player has line of sight. Units entering one portal are instantly transported to the other.
Aphrodite: Curse – Turns a number of human units in the target area into pigs. They can be herded as normal.
Hephaestus: Plenty – Creates a Plenty Vault that generates 15 Food, Wood, and Gold every 5 seconds. The vault is indestructible but can be captured if surrounded by enemy units.
Artemis: Earthquake – The reverberations caused by Earthquake deal massive amounts of damage to all buildings in the target area, but little to human units.
20% chance for fallen humans to return as Shades.

Myth units +20% hit points.
Ranged soldiers and heroes +1 range.

Ranged fortifications +2 range.

Ballistics and Burning Pitch are researched instantly for free in their respective ages.

Deconstruction – Enables the player to deconstruct an enemy building. The full resource cost of the building is returned to the player’s enemy. Cannot be used against Walls, Gates, Town Centers, Wonders, or Titan Gates.
Prometheus: Valor – Turns some soldiers into heroes (3 uses)
Leto: Spider Lair – Hatches spider eggs that turn into invisible traps for enemy units that cross the area (3 uses).
Hyperion: Chaos – Target an enemy group to make them hostile to all. Can be cast 3 times
Rheia: Traitor – Converts a single enemy unit (3 uses).
Helios: Vortex – Teleports all the player’s military units to a single location (3 uses).
Atlas: Implode – Creates a Black hole that sucks nearby units and buildings and then explodes.
Can time-shift buildings to new locations (towers and Palaces cost 50% of their price to shift, others are free).

Buildings are constructed 25% faster per nearby Manor.

Receive 2 free myth units instead of 1 when advancing to the next age.

Lost siege and myth units return 20% of their resource cost.
Gaia: Gaia Forest – Grows an aspen forest; its trees each provide 200 wood instead of the standard 150.Oceanus: Carnivora – Summons a Carnivora plant that eats nearby enemy human soldiers or sinks ships (3 uses).
Leto: Spider Lair – Hatches spider eggs that turn into invisible traps for enemy units that cross the area (3 uses).
Theia: Hesperides – Spawns a large tree which can train up to 5 Dryads. The tree can be captured by other players. (2 uses)
Rheia: Traitor – Converts a single enemy unit (3 uses).

Hekate: Tartarian Gate – Creates a Tartarian Gate, a building that keeps creating Tartarian Spawns that are hostile to all players.
Start with Hero Citizens and promoting Citizens to Heroes costs -25%.

Economic Guild upgrades cost 30% and can be researched an age early.

Economic buildings (Town Centers, Manors, Economic Guilds, and Markets) grow Lush.

Lush heals friendly units and buildings (1 hit point per second).
Oranos: Shockwave – Creates a shockwave which casts enemy units into the air, damaging them slightly, and leaving them stunned for a few seconds.Oceanus: Carnivora – Summons a Carnivora plant that eats nearby enemy human soldiers or sinks ships (3 uses).

Thor: Dwarven Mine – Creates a Gold Mine wherever the player wants it to be placed. The Gold Mine holds more gold if cast in later Ages and is mined faster. Any civilization can mine from it.Freyja: Forest Fire – Burns down a forest, damaging any nearby units and buildings.
Forseti: Healing Spring – Creates a spring that heals all nearby units. It can be captured by enemy units in large numbers.
Bragi: Flaming Weapons – Increases the attack of all human units and heroes by 100% for one minute.
Skadi: Frost – Temporarily freezes enemy units in the area of casting. Grants the affected units 99% hack, pierce, and crush armor, essentially making them invulnerable for the duration of the God Power.
Baldr: Ragnarok – Turns all the caster’s gatherers and dwarves into Heroes of Ragnarok, melee heroes with a huge attack bonus against myth units. However, this completely stagnates the invoker’s economy.
Tyr: Fimbulwinter – Summon a pack of wolves to attack enemy Town Centers. No other God Power can be invoked during Fimbulwinter.
Start with three Dwarves instead of three Gatherers.
Dwarves cost -10 gold, and gather food and wood nearly as fast as Gatherers.

Builds Dwarven Armory instead of Armory. Dwarven Armory can be built and research upgrades at any age, and can research three additional technologies.
Receive a free Dwarf for each Dwarven Armory upgrade researched.
Odin: Great Hunt – Increases the number of animals in the target area. If there are none, it spawns a few Elk.Freyja: Forest Fire – Burns down a forest, damaging any nearby units and buildings.
Heimdall: Undermine – Destroys enemy walls and towers near where it is cast.
Njord: Walking Woods – Brings a group of trees to life to attack the enemy.
Skadi: Frost – Temporarily freezes enemy units in the area of casting. Grants the affected units 99% hack, pierce, and crush armor, essentially making them invulnerable for the duration of the God Power.

Ox Carts are 50% cheaper.
Transforming Gatherers and Dwarves into Berserks is free.
Freyr: Gullinbursti – Temporarily summons Freyr’s magical giant golden hero boar to defend a friendly Town Center.Ullr: Asgardian Bastion – Erect a powerful Hill Fort fortification named Asgardian Hill Fort.
Freyja: Forest Fire – Burns down a forest, damaging any nearby units and buildings.
Aegir: Tempest – Calls down a vicious hailstorm that damages and greatly slows down enemy units.
Bragi: Flaming Weapons – Increases the attack of all human units and heroes by 100% for one minute.
Vidar: Inferno – Unleashes a fiery path of destruction that incinerates all in its path.
Hel: Nidhogg – Summons a powerful dragon to serve the player. As a flying unit, it can only be attacked by ranged units.
God Power effect boosts with each Age.

Technologies cost -50% food, wood, and gold, but take 150% longer to research.
Hill Fort and Hill Fort units +10% damage.

Repairing buildings is free.
Gatherers and Dwarves can repair.
