Here’s all you need to know when using your eagle, Enkidu, in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

Ubisoft’s thirteenth Assassin’s Creed installment, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, is a narrative-driven action-adventure experience that follows the adventures of a defiant young man turning into a refined Master Assassin with a conflicted destiny.

The gameplay is very much reminiscent of the old Assassin’s Creed games that brought the franchise to its current glory. In this game, you fill in the shoes of Basim, an orphan who grew up in the streets of Baghdad. He greatly admires the awe of the Hidden Ones and dreams of joining them one day.

Enkidu is the Eastern imperial eagle that accompanies the thief-turned-Hidden One named Basim Ibn Ishaq in his quests in 9th century Baghdad. There are quite a number of guards patrolling the streets of Baghdad in AC Mirage.

And avoiding them to get to your objective can be quite a hassle. That is if you didn’t have your imperial eagle with you. Here is all you need to know in order to use Enkidu properly.

How to Use Enkidu in Assassin’s Creed Mirage

Your missions will involve assassinating targets, stealing objects, escorting allies, and infiltrating heavily guarded structures, to name a few. The main obstacle that stands in your way is the abundance of guards roaming around the target area.

Thankfully, AC Mirage gives you the ability to call your reliable ally, Enkidu. You can use Enkidu as a scouting tool of sorts to scan the entire area from a bird’s eye view. You can thus mark enemies, hidden entrances, blacksmiths, and treasures and plan out your infiltration route.

Start by calling your eagle. Once you do that, you will be immediately put into a bird’s eye view and will be given control of Enkidu. Afterward, you can use your directional keys or stick to control the direction in which you fly. You can also change your altitude according to your needs.

You can then take an array of actions that is conveniently shown at the bottom of the interface when you’re high up there. You have the option to place markers on points of interest, select the stationary mode to have Enkidu stationed in one place to map out enemies and other attractions, make Enkidu fly faster by pressing the boost key, hide icons to remove distractions, etc.

One very useful tip is to notice when the crosshair turns yellow when you’re using Enkidu, as it indicates that the location of the quest item is present in that specific area. As you get nearer the item, you will notice that the crosshair gets smaller and smaller and turns into a point on the map.

One more thing you should remember is that you have to be in stationary mode to use Enkidu to mark points of interest. That’s because moving around while marking enemies and other things would be pretty difficult.
