Enemy ecology is an interesting feature in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. In the ecology, one or a group of enemies horde around to do something in the environment. Spotting an enemy ecology is very easy and simple.

When you approach an enemy ecology, a red mark will appear on top of the enemies. If you see this mark, do not attack them. Leave them alone and let them do their thing. It can lead to some unique encounters or items in the world.
