After Round 1 of the Swiss Stage ended, the draw for Round 2 occurred with the next 8 matches.
League of Legends Worlds 2023 is underway as the Swiss Stage has begun. All 16 teams have played their first match and have separated themselves into two halves in terms of records. For most of the matches, all the favorites have won.
LPL has looked the most dominant thus far, while LCK is not that far behind. LNG, G2, and Weibo Gaming got the most dominant wins, while MAD, NRG, and DK were quite disappointing. Both LEC and LCS have 1 wins each so far in the tournament.
That said, we are finally going to Round 2 of the Swiss Stage with the stronger teams facing each other. With this new format, we will be getting more evenly matched games than usual, and we are all here for it.

Round 2 of Worlds 2023 Swiss Stage
So after Round 1 ended, here were the record splits for the draw for Round 2.

A majority of the LPL and LCK games are in the 1-0 record pool, while the LCS and LEC have 1 representative each there. On the flip side, the 0-1 record teams are largely of the Play-In and Western teams.

From this round and onwards, any team can play another in the same record bracket. As per that, we got a lot of regional matches, and it’s not what everyone was hoping for. Here are all the matchups we are getting for the two different record brackets.

There are so many regional matches that many would consider this the worst possible draw for Round 2. It is kind of amazing that this is how it panned out. However, it does set up for more cross-region matches in the later rounds.
The time of the games is still not given, but they will be starting on October 20 as all of them are best of 1s. Let’s hope for some good matchups in Round 2.
