Warzone 2.0 DMZ is getting its second seasonal progress wipe with the Season 4 update. Infinity Ward shared an in-depth look at the progress wipe.
Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 is the direct sequel to Warzone 1. While most core game modes from Warzone 1 have returned to the sequel, new game modes such as DMZ have been the center of attention.
DMZ is an extraction shooter game mode based on the BR map Al Mazrah. Players deploy as teams of trios, duos, or solo. There are loot caches, safes, strongholds, and hidden caches that grant players contraband they can extract at the end of the session.
While players can keep the contraband and equipment acquired from each extraction, it is only available for a season. The progression wipe will be done similarly to the previous seasons, where a complete reset will take place with the seasonal update.

Season 4 DMZ Progression Wipe Explained

DMZ is an extraction shooter where players can keep their inventory with them until they die or fail to extract from Al Mazrah. Like most extraction shooters, such as Escape from Tarkov and Cycle Frontier, DMZ will also get its seasonal progress wipe with the Season 4 update. While the progress wipe might seem confusing for most new players, Infinity Ward has explained why they are going forward with it and its actual purpose.
Firstly, the faction mission progress got too difficult quickly for new players. So, with each season, they are trying to make sure each mission’s challenge and time requirements are balanced. With the new mission set, they can employ multi-location missions that send players to Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, Koschei Complex, and Building 21.
Moreover, earned rewards such as Blueprints, Operator Skins, and Calling Cards will remain unaffected. However, the Key Stash will now be able to hold specific mission items that players must gather from one Exclusion Zone and bring to another. This allows DMZ to have longer-form missions that utilize all Exclusion Zones.
