Riot is going to release two Mythic Variants in LoL Patch 14.17.
Patch 14.17 is looking to release a lot of content for consumers. The new Battle Queen skins are coming out along with brand new Global Emotes, which represent all the Tier 1 Esports teams. Thus, Riot will soon be introducing a ton of cosmetics to League of Legends.
To top all of that, two Mythic Variants are also coming for fan-favorite skins, God-King Darius and God-King Garen. Here is what we know so far.

New LoL Mythic Variants Patch 14.17
Mythic Variants are coming out for God-King Darius and God-King Garen. We still have a video of them in action and a splash art shared between the two of them.
This feels like a Lore reversal for both characters as it’s a reimagining of what if Darius was good and Garen was evil. They still portray their character traits of destruction and ruling but are on reversed sides of the spectrum. Here are the key differences between each of the skins and their Mythic Variants.
God King Darius Mythic Variant:
- Color Scheme goes from Dark (Purple and Black) to Light (White and Golden).
- Companion Wolf changed to Companion Dragon.
- Effects are different in terms of color schemes but have similarities to the base set.
God-King Garen Mythic Variant:
- Color Scheme goes from Light (White and Light Purple) to Dark (Purple and Red Color Combination).
- Companion Lion changed to Companion Manticore.
- Effects are different in terms of color schemes but have similarities to the base set.
In general, they changed up the color schemes, companion animal, and effects. Pretty neat for Mythic Chromas.
Mythic Variants Price
Both the Mythic Variants will be available for their individual Capsule Milestones.

The two Mythic Variants will be coming out in Patch 14.17 on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
