Top 10 Main DPS Characters in Genshin Impact

10. Diluc

Diluc is one of the first 5-star characters introduced in Genshin Impact, more specifically, the first Main-DPS character ever introduced into the game. He is a Pyro claymore user who can obliterate enemies with strong attacks. Give him 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames with a Pyro damage goblet and a Crit Rate or DMG circlet, and have him spam his elemental skill before using his elemental burst. His elemental burst will make his normal attacks infused with Pyro.

He has been in the game from the start; the fact that he still deserves a position at the top makes him extraordinary. It is a common misconception that he is only suitable for the early game but not ideal for the end game; we disagree. He is still one of the most consistent Pyro DPS characters in the game and can be obtained from the Standard Banner.

9. Tartaglia

Childe or Tartaglia, the first Snezhnayan character and Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers, is a 5* Hydro Bow user. Childe is one of the most unique characters in the game solely because of his playstyle.

Normally a bow user, Childe can change his stance from ranged to melee by wielding hydro swords after casting his elemental skill. Players can easily defeat enemies with Tartaglia’s Hydro melee attacks with supports like Xiangling for massive vaporize damage. His elemental burst is an absolute nuke and deals a ton of damage. He is the only character in the game with two types of elemental bursts; one with his bow and the other with melee. To achieve these high damage numbers, he needs a 4-piece Heart of Depth with a Hydro damage goblet.

8. Yoimiya

One of the most criticized characters ever released in Genshin Impact, it has been rough for Yoimiya as many players had problems utilizing her playstyle. But that does not change the fact that Yoimiya is a top-tier DPS character.

On one hand, her elemental skill focuses on enhancing her normal attacks into Pyro, thus increasing her damage. On the other hand, her Elemental Burst is more or less like a support ability for the party. Pairing up with a Hydro character like Xingqiu or Kokomi, Yoimiya can be an excellent damage dealer. Equip her with a 4-piece Shimenawa’s Reminiscence or Crimson Witch of Flames, and you can get the best out of Yoimiya!

7. Eula

At this moment, Eula is still holding the highest record for the single biggest attack damage number in Genshin Impact. A 5-star Cryo claymore character, Eula deals mostly physical damage rather than Cryo.

Eula’s damage primarily comes from her normal attacks, which deal a lot of physical damage. Her elemental skill is a swift slash, dealing cryo damage. However, her elemental burst is one of the most powerful in the game. Her elemental burst ‘Glacial Illumination‘ creates a Lightfall Sword that will follow her around for 7 seconds before it explodes, dealing massive physical damage to nearby opponents. Equip her with a 4-piece Pale Flame artifact set, and even her normal attacks will be strong enough to clear out groups of enemies.

6. Arataki Itto

Descendant of the crimson Oni, Itto is also the leader and founder of the Arataki Gang. Itto is a 5-star claymore character who is the first actual Geo character that focuses on DPS. Easy to build because he uses DEF%, Itto can unleash tons of Geo damage in quick succession using his abilities. Moreover, he easily synergizes pretty well with Geo characters like Gorou and Zhongli.

Itto hurls Ushi as his elemental skill, the young akaushi bull and an auxiliary member of the Arataki Gang, dealing Geo DMG to opponents on hit. With his elemental burst, Itto lets out his inner Raging Oni King, wielding his Oni King’s Kanabou, and his normal attacks deal Geo damage with a great combo. Equipping Itto with 4-piece Husk Of Opulent Dreams artifacts can make him your favorite Oni!

5. Xiao

The Vigilant Yaksha Xiao is a 5-star Anemo polearm character and one of the most fun characters to use in Genshin Impact. He is closest to a berserker in Genshin Impact because his elemental burst can be left on indefinitely.

His elemental skill is a dash where he goes through multiple enemies dealing a significant amount of Anemo damage. Xiao’s elemental burst gives him a massive jump and damage boost where he can jump and make plunge attacks dealing a ton of AoE Anemo damage to multiple enemies. Xiao is unique because of how fast he is on the field and his attacks. To maximize your DPS, equip Xiao with 2-piece Gladiator’s Finale and 2-piece Viridescent Venerer.

4. Raiden Shogun

The Electro Archon, Raiden Shogun, is the only Archon on the list because of how powerful she is in-game. A 5-star polearm character and one of the best supports in Genshin Impact, surprisingly, Raiden Shogun is also one of the most powerful DPS characters in the game.

With her elemental skill, she can produce lots of energy particles and Electro damage with her teammates’ attacks. Raiden Shogun’s elemental burst is just spectacular, both visually and in terms of damage. With her burst, Raiden unleashes Musou no Hitotachi and deals AoE Electro damage, using Musou Isshin in combat for a certain duration afterward. Equip her with a 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set and The Catch. Raiden Shogun is very flexible as a Main DPS, Sub DPS, and support.

3. Hu Tao

The Director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Hu Tao, is currently the best Pyro DPS character in Genshin Impact. A 5-star Polearm character, Hu Tao, is a fun and powerful character to play. She focuses on elemental skill and charged attacks where she can dash and deal a massive amount of Pyro damage.

In her elemental skill Guide to Afterlife, Hu Tao consumes a set portion of her HP to knock the surrounding enemies back and enter the Paramita Papilio state. Her normal attack converts to Pyro damage in this state, which cannot be overridden by any other elemental infusion. With her elemental burst Spirit Soother, Hu Tao deals Pyro damage in a large AoE. Give her 4-piece Crimson Witch of Flames artifacts set and top-tier support like Xingqiu, and she can clear out any enemy with ease.

2. Kamisato Ayaka

Kamisato Ayaka was one of the most anticipated characters ever since her announcement in Genshin Impact. And Mihoyo didn’t disappoint the fans with her release. She went well above and beyond expectations. Ayaka is a 5-star Cryo sword character from Inazuma and one of the most powerful melee characters. She can sprint underground like Mona, and her attacks get infused with Cryo whenever she exits the ground.

Ayaka emits ice around herself when using her elemental skill before launching nearby opponents dealing Cryo elemental damage. Ayaka’s elemental burst ‘Kamisato Art – Soumetsu‘, casts frost using her fan and sword, which moves forward, creating cryo blade storms. This deals continuous cryo damage to the opponents in its path. When the bladestorm reaches its limit, it explodes, dealing AoE Cryo damage. Giving her a 4-piece Blizzard Strayer and supports like Xingqiu or Venti, Ayaka becomes a force to be reckoned with in Genshin Impact.

1. Ganyu

The Cryo Queen herself, Ganyu, has been the top DPS character in Genshin Impact ever since her release. Ganyu is on top of this list because of how consistent her damage numbers are. She is also the simplest DPS to play in the game. All she needs is a 4-piece Wanderer’s Troupe or 4-piece Blizzard Strayer set, which should include a Cryo goblet.

Ganyu is considered broken because of her Level 2 Charged Shot, which fires off a Frostflake Arrow that deals Cryo damage. The Frostflake Arrow blooms after hitting its target, dealing AoE Cryo damage. Ganyu leaves a single Ice Lotus behind with her elemental skill, shunning all impurities and dealing AoE Cryo damage. And her elemental burst ‘Celestial Shower’, unleashes a Sacred Cryo Pearl that will continuously rain down shards of ice, striking opponents within its AoE and dealing Cryo damage.

Unlike other DPS characters on the list, Ganyu can be played without support. Pairing Ganyu with Xiangling and Bennett, her damage significantly increases with Melt damage. This makes Ganyu currently the best DPS character in Genshin Impact.
