Tekken 8 director Katsuhiro Harada responded to fans about FF7’s Tifa Lockhart coming to the game as a guest character.
Bandai Namco officially released Tekken 8 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on Friday, January 26, 2024. The fighting game features a 32-character roster, including new characters like Azucena, Reina, and Victor. Bandai Namco has announced that the game will have four seasonal releases, and Eddy Gordo will return to the game.
However, after the fans learned the full roster of Tekken 8, they have now turned their attention to the potential DLC and guest character who could be added later. Many Tekken and Final Fantasy fans are asking the developers to add Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy 7 as a guest character.
On the social media platform X/Twitter, ‘Tifa’ and “Tekken” were trending on January 26, Tekken 8’s release day. Director Katsuhiro Harada later responded to the Tifa situation on his personal Twitter/X account.

Katsuhiro Harada’s Response on Twitter
While fans asked Bandai Namco to add Tifa as a guest character in Tekken 8 on Twitter/X, the game’s director, Katsuhiro Harada responded online. Harada replied to a fan’s tweet that the team had not decided anything about guest characters.
We all know she is attractive and I understand that. But as yet we have not decided anything about guest characters etc.

Tekken has a history of adding characters from other popular games. For example, Negan from The Walking Dead and Street Fighter’s Akuma were added as guest characters in Tekken 7.
In addition, Final Fantasy 15’s Noctis and Geese from SNK’s Fatal Fury were also added to Tekken 7’s roster. Since Bandai Namco added Noctis as a guest character before, fans think other characters from Final Fantasy might also come to the game.
Fans will have to settle for the returning character Eddy Gordo, who was recently announced as the first DLC character coming to the game after launch. Despite Harada’s response that the Tekken 8 developers haven’t made any decisions regarding possible guest characters, fans can still hope to see Tifa in the game.
