Each mission in Starfield comes with a new challenge of its own, along with unique side quests and an immersive storyline. Some of these challenges include the mind-blowing puzzles of Starfield. In the Mantis mission, players will be tasked with investigating the Mantis lair to find some valuable resources. However, on their way to find the resources, they will face a very tough puzzle that requires a lot of brainwork to be solved.
While progressing through the Mantis questline, you will come across a letter puzzle at the Mantis lair. This puzzle requires you to get past some pressure plates without any errors. A simple mistake will lead to 40 laser guns shooting at you at once. However, if you can get past this puzzle, you will receive a handful of loot, which makes solving this puzzle worth it.
Mantis Base Letter Puzzle in Starfield
The puzzle might seem confusing at first sight, but it is pretty simple if you know how to solve it. However, over time, you must be very careful with your steps, as a wrong step might lead to your death. The answer to the puzzle can be found at Denebola I-b in the audio log left by Leon Volcain. In the audio log, Leon keeps repeating the sentence, “Sic semper tyrannis.” Here, the word TYRANNIS is the answer to solving the puzzle.
As you enter the room of the puzzle, you will find pressure plates arranged in rows and columns with a letter written on top of all of them. Here, you will just have to walk over the pressure plate while completing the whole word TYRANNIS. So, on the first row, walk through the plate with the letter T on it. On the second row, walk over the letter Y. On the third row, walk over the letter R. In this way, keep crossing the path by walking over the corresponding plates to complete the spelling of TYRANNIS.
Once you cross the pressure plates, you will find an orange cage door with a lock in it. Press the red button on the side of the gate to open it and get through it. Now, keep progressing, and you will get to a room full of rewards for you, including a new ship.
