Developers at Aspyr have responded to the negative feedback and stated that the team is working on fixing the problems the game faced at launch.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection combines the classic Star Wars Battlefront games from 2004’s Star Wars: Battlefront and Star Wars: Battlefront from 2005. Developed by Aspyr, the game’s launch did not go as planned. When the game was released on Thursday, it shocked players as it took up eight times as much storage as the combined amount of the originals.

Following the game’s release on Steam, almost 10,000 players logged on to PC to play the game. However, fans were again disappointed by the game’s online multiplayer functionalities, where players attempted to join one of three 64-player multiplayer servers.

Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection gained an ‘Overwhelmingly Negative’ review rating on the Steam page. Players have also complained about the game’s frequent crashes, multiplayer errors, and unusually high ping. While more servers have reportedly been added in the hours since launch, players continued to report bugs, stuttering, and weapons failing to register damage to other players.

After the disastrous launch, Aspyr responded to the feedback and posted an update on the game’s official page, acknowledging the issues and assuring that the studio is trying to fix the problems.

We’d like to thank the Battlefront community for their overwhelming support and feedback for the STAR WARS™  Battlefront Classic Collection release.

At launch, we experienced critical errors with our network infrastructure. The result was incredibly high ping, matchmaking errors, crashes, and servers not appearing in the browser.

Since launch, we’ve been working to address these issues and increase network stability, and we will continue our efforts until our network infrastructure is stabilized to prevent further outages.

Please continue to report bugs, errors, or unexpected behaviors to our support team via our Request Form.

Aspyr Joe’s Response

Aspyr announced that more servers had been added in the last 24 hours, and the problems were still there. More payers kept reporting about more bugs, stuttering, and weapons not dealing damage to enemies sometimes. The developers have asked players to use the official support team to log bugs and issues for the game.
