Ubisoft announced that the Six Invitational 2022 has been moved to Stockholm, Sweden.

During the November Major, Ubisoft confirmed that the Six Invitational 2022 would be taking place in Montreal, Canada. However, in light of renewed restrictions imposed in Canada, Ubisoft had to make the difficult decision to move the event to a new location just 4 weeks before the event commenced.

AN UPDATE ON THE SIX INVITATIONAL 2022

“In light of renewed regulations and event restrictions in Quebec, Canada, hosting the six invitational 2022 there is no longer possible. Therefore, we have decided to move the location of the event to Stockholm, Sweden, where the event will take place at the same dates, from February 8 to 20, in a LAN environment following strict sanitary measures.”

Just like the past few Rainbow Six Siege Major events, SI 2022 will have a no-live audience policy. While this is unfortunate, considering the current COVID-19 situation with new variants affecting all countries around the world, we believe it is the correct decision taken by Ubisoft.

However, there is some good news too. To make this Six Invitational extra special, Ubisoft will be allowing selected streamers and content creators to co-stream the event on their own channels, something the Siege community has been asking for a long time.

“We’re excited to announce that for the Six Invitational 2022, we are opening opportunities for selected streamers and content creators to provide an extra viewing experience of the competition on their own channels for fans around the world to enjoy,” stated Ubisoft.

Ubisoft also mentioned working with third parties to organize local live watch parties with sanitary protocols. But these requests are still being evaluated on a case-by-case scenario, and more information will be shared later.
