Sion has been hit with a nerf on the PBE, making his passive do way less damage to towers.
If you have been playing League for a while, there’s a good chance you came across the ‘inting’ Sion. Sion is probably the only champion where you can intentionally die 20 times and still carry the game. Inting Sion is basically where a Sion’s only goal is to destroy turrets. Though it is called inting Sion, you don’t need to keep dying to opponents.
A good inting Sion will choose his moments and take towers on the map. Even if you kill him, he comes back as a zombie and keeps hitting your turrets. The passive is the main reason why inting Sion is so strong compared to other champions. This gets more annoying to deal with as the game goes longer and Sion gets tankier. The item ‘Hullbreaker’ is perfect for Sion as it makes him tanky when alone in a side lane and lets him do more damage to towers.
But all that is coming to a sad end as Sion’s passive is getting a huge nerf in Patch 12.9.
Sion Nerf Patch 12.9
- Passive:
- Zombie Structure Damage: 100% >>> 40%
Though it was not mentioned in the tooltip for PBE, Sion’s zombie form is doing 50% reduced damage against towers. If this was intended by Riot or not is still unknown. But nerfing Sion makes sense because of how popular the inting Sion strategy got. Still, nobody could have expected such a harsh nerf.
