Decide whether to choose “Eternal Spring” or “Life is For the Living” when confronted by Scar in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
Numerous factions and individuals are vying for control of the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The two main factions in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are the Ward and the Sparks.
The Ward prioritizes society outside the Zone, similar to Duty in previous S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, and would even see the destruction of the Zone for the goal. Moreover, they also protect SIIRCA scientists who conduct experiments on the anomalies of the Zone, in their quest to use the Zone to further Humanity.
The Sparks on the other hand prioritize freedom and believe that the Zone shouldn’t be meddled with and that it is left to its own devices. Moreover, the Sparks see the Zone as a beacon of independence, and an area free from rule, and they intend to keep it that way. As such, the Sparks try to disrupt SIIRCA’s projects and get into frequent clashes with the Ward.
Throughout S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, you’ll have to choose to side with either the Sparks or the Ward. Both factions also have unique endings.
Whether you get the Spark ending or not depends on the choices you make at the end of the main mission Subtle Matters. In this article, we’ll take a look at the two choices you can make during this mission, and their consequences.

Eternal Spring
If you choose Eternal Spring, you will ally yourself with the Scar, which will allow you to work up to the Spark Ending. This will lock you out of both the Kaimanov and Strelok endings. But you will still be able to get the Ward Ending if you choose to do so.
In the Spark Ending, Scar steps into the pod and, having full control of the zone, creates a dream world, with no pain or suffering, for everyone including Skif to live in, an Eternal Spring.

Life is for the Living
If you choose Life is for the Living, you will go against Scar and the Sparks and thus lock yourself out of the Spark Ending. Moreover, after the dialogue ends, Scar will attack you and leave you for dead in a pod.
This is the only choice you can take if you want to work up to the Kaimanov and Strelok endings.
Also, keep in mind, that the choice here has no effect on whether or not you get the Ward Ending, which is entirely dependent on the choice you make at the end of the mission “Dangerous Liaisions”.
