Fortnite players can finally feel relieved since the start of Chapter 3 after Fortnite announced changes coming to Stinger SMG, Mk-7 AR, and the Auto Shotgun.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 came out back in December of 2021. Fortnite Chapter 3 introduced a new map complete with new mechanics and weapons etc. It’s already been more than one month and the new meta has already kind of settled.
Some of these weapons really have a lot of fire rates like the Stinger SMG and the Mk-7 Assault rifle. On the other hand, Epic vaulted the Pump shotgun to introduce the Auto Shotgun and Striker Pump Shotgun. Many players did not like these new shotguns because of their low damage and slow fire rate.
So, Many competitive Fortnite players started running the Mk-7 AR and two Stinger SMG’s as their weapons of choice. The previous AR, shotgun, and SMG combo was nowhere to be seen. Many players expressed their opinion online about the new spray meta being detrimental to the game.
Seems like Epic Games is finally heeding these concerns and will be soon making changes to the Stinger SMG, Mk-7 AR, and the Auto Shotgun.

Stinger SMG, Mk-7 AR and Auto Shotgun Change Announcement:
The official Fortnite Status Twitter account made an announcement about changes coming to the Stinger SMG, Mk-7 AR, and the Auto Shotgun. Fortnite will release a hotfix on January 13th, 2022, and make the appropriate changes to the weapons.
The Tweet reads,
“We’ll be making changes to the Stinger SMG, MK-Seven Assault Rifle, and Auto Shotgun in a hotfix released tomorrow, January 13.
We’ll follow up on this post with the adjustments made when they are live in-game.”
Currently, we do not have any info about the changes these weapons will go through. But seems like the Stinger SMG and the Mk-7 AR might get a nerf. On the other hand, the Auto Shotgun might receive a buff.
Update:
Fortnite released the hotfix and nerfed the damage of the Stinger SMG, the Mk-7 AR, and the Auto Shotgun received a reload buff. FN_Assist gave us a closer look at the new stats of these guns.
