Recently there has been a rumor going around the Genshin community about a new banner system but that rumor has been debunked.
Genshin Impact is an open-world Gacha RPG that is in its 4 years of running. With new characters joining the roster in every patch meeting demands have been an issue. And it looked like the devs will tackle this by providing the necessary changes in the limited wish banners. But that just turned out to be a false rumor but there are some facts that need to be checked.
As we know, the rumor was that there will be 42 days banner on new limited wish characters and it was supposed to start from patch 5.3. So, we would be able to wish for both Mavuika and Citlali for the entirety of version 5.3. It seemed too good to be true and that has been proven right. That being said, there are some silver linings and that is what I will be discussing here.
There Will Be No New Banner System in Genshin Impact Yet
From trusted leakers and beta testers throughout the internet, I can assure you that there will be no new banner system introduced in the Genshin Impact 5.3. Even Hoyoverse confirmed this from their official account. Although that was from Honkai Star Rail, where they said we will have the usual rotation.
But there is something that we all need to consider. Genshin Impact is getting way too many characters and most of them aren’t getting the spotlight. So, there will be some changes in the future too. The same thing happened when we got the chronicle wish banner. It was supposed to come in 4.3 but then was debunked. Only to be introduced with new rules and mechanics in 4.5.
So, while we aren’t getting the amazing 42-day new character deal, I strongly believe that there will be some changes soon in the banner system of Genshin Impact.
