FR Avancer is the newest AR joining the weapon pool of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Here’s how to unlock it in Season 5.
Infinity Ward has been crushing it with content drops across multiple live service titles like Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2. To help with player retention during the end of the game’s lifecycle, the developers try to spice things up with each new update by releasing new maps, and weapons, balancing changes, etc.
The Call of Duty community is always excited about new weapon releases. And to everyone’s surprise, Infinity Ward is adding a new Assault Rifle to MW2 and Warzone 2.0’s weapon pool. A new FR Avancer will arrive on Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 with the Season 5 update.
The FR Avancer is essentially the FAMAS, an iconic burst-fire rifle in most CoD games. This fast-firing bullpup rifle is a midrange behemoth that can neutralize targets quickly within a few dozen meters.

How to Unlock the FR Avancer
Players who prefer fast-firing Assault Rifles will have a field day with the FR Avancer. With a blinding fire rate and exceptional maneuverability, this aggressive bullpup rifle can dominate the battlefield in the right hands.
In Multiplayer (MW2):
- Complete Sector B11 of the Season 5 Battle Pass.
In Warzone 2.0:
- Complete Sector B11 of the Season 5 Battle Pass.
The fastest way to unlock battle pass sectors is by earning battle pass tokens. Battle pass tokens are provided to players based on the time spent in-game. After collecting adequate Battle pass tokens, players can use them to make their way up to the desired Sector in no time.
FR Avancer Release Date
According to Infinity Ward, the AR will be available in-game for players, with the Season 5 update coming out on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 9 AM PT/12 PM ET/4 pm UK.
