As the Worlds patch is over, Riot is nerfing one of the most prominent ADC in the game, Jhin.
Since 2016, Jhin has been one of the most popular League of Legends characters since his launch. He offers unique gameplay, design, and lore. Even when he is particularly weak in a patch, he still remains a strong pick in the game.
During the start of the season, ADC was not doing well whatsoever. But after some item buffs and the mid-season update, the marksmen champion became stronger. Not only that but a lot of marksmen champions were also picked for other roles like jungle and mid-lane.
Eventually, ADCs have gotten more and more balanced, where we don’t see that many off-meta picks that much. With that said, many ADCs are still extremely powerful and a must-pick in every single rank. One such ADC is Jhin.
Currently, Jhin holds an astonishing 29.4% pick rate with a decent 51.28% win rate. If played well, he can be a dominant pick from the early game.
Recently, Riot Phroxzon has revealed the patch notes for patch 14.20. In the patch notes, Jhin has gotten a significant nerf.

Jhin Nerfs Patch 14.20
- Base Stats
- AD growth per level: 4.7 >>> 4.4
- R – Curtain Call
- Base damage: 64/154/244 >>> 64/128/192
To explain briefly, Jhin’s late-game power spike is getting a massive nerf. Firstly, his AD growth per level is getting nerfed significantly. This nerf will affect him in all stages of the game, but it may not be that bad depending on the item he builds.
But the most notable nerf he is receiving is his ultimate damage nerf. Now in the late game, the damage difference is very much noticeable. However, depending on the player these changes may not affect them much. But these changes are enough to where Jhin may not be a top tier afterward.
Release Date
These Jhin nerfs are coming to the game on Patch 14.20, scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
