One of the support items, Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike, will receive massive changes on League of Legends patch 14.4.
During the first patch of season 14, we have gotten a lot of new additions to League of Legends. The notable ones are Summoner’s Rift overhaul, objective changes, camp changes, and, for today’s topic, item system changes.
For a quick recap, Riot removed the mythic item category in patch 14.1. Due to this, they had to either rework or remove many of the items in the game. Additionally, they added many new items as well. Usually, Riot Games would change the starter jungle items before anything else. But this time, they didn’t even touch it. Instead, they completely reworked the support item system and streamlined it.
How the new support item works is first, instead of multiple support items for different roles, there will be only one universal item for support. Players can upgrade that support item by doing in-game quests. Once they upgrade that item for the second time, they will get to pick between 5 unique support items. Each of them is unique and serves a different purpose.
With that said, some of these items are better than others, so Riot has been balancing them since their release. And one of the items that will be receiving changes is the Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike in patch 14.4.

League of Legends Patch 14.4: Zaz’Zak’s Realmspike Changes
- Base damage: 50 to 20
- AP ratio: 15% to 20%
- Target max health damage: 3% to 4%
- Cooldown changed: 9 – 6 seconds
Let’s talk about these changes in depth. Firstly, the base damage was reduced significantly. At the same time, the rest of the stats got some very respectable buffs.
While the flat damage was nerfed, both the AP ratio and max health damage were increased. Moreover, the cooldown was also reduced as well. Overall, it will increase the viability of this item in the late game as it promotes scaling.

All of these support item changes are coming to the game on patch 14.4, scheduled for Thursday, February 22, 2024
