Riot has unveiled the newest Riven skin, Primal Ambush Riven, which will be released on patch 14.2.
Since 2011, Riot has been celebrating the Lunar New Year in League of Legends. During these Lunar New Year events, we get a new event pass, new emotes, and, for the current topic, new skins.
Last season, we got two separate skin lines for the Lunar New Year event. They were Mythmaker and Lunar Gods. Likewise, this year, we are also getting two different skin lines for Lunar Revel 2024. However, both of them would be a completely new skin line. They are Primal Ambush and Heavenscale.
Thematically, Heavenscale is the more generic Lunar Revel skin line, while Primal Ambush is the cooler one. There are four skins included in the Primal Ambush skin line. One of them is Primal Ambush Riven.
Riven is one of the oldest champions in the game. Yet, she also has one of the highest skill ceilings out of any champions as well. It also makes a lot of new players try her out and properly learn her as well.
As she is one of the oldest and yet popular champions, she gets a lot of new skins. And Primal Ambush is the newest one in her arsenal. Primal Ambush Riven does a lot of things correctly. The SFX, animations, and overall quality are top-notch. But Riven already has some of the best skins in the game, like Dawnbringer and Broken Covenant. Even so, this skin is still nice to have and probably one of the better epic Riven skins.

Release Date
All of the Primal Ambush skins will hit live servers on Patch 14.2, scheduled for Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
