Let’s take a glance at whom we will be meeting in Spider-Man 2.
Spider-Man 2 is an open-world action-adventure game with a heavy focus on its story, just like its predecessor. The game is set 10 months after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and this time, you take on the role of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they try to balance their academic and personal lives with their lives behind the mask as they fight to protect New York City from a number of threats. Such as the iconic villains Venom, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, etc.
Like the original game, the story is yet another highlight of the game, showcasing one of the best Spider-Man stories in any form of media. The tight character work around Peter, Miles, and Mary Jane still remains. Additionally, the game sees a return of a time recurring character of the series, Harry Osborn, Peter’s best friend.
There are also a number of other fan favorites of the Spider-Man franchise making their first appearance in Insomniac’s Spider-Man series. With all that being said, below is a list of every major character appearing in Spider-Man 2.

All Characters in Spider-Man 2
Peter Parker
Bitten by a radioactive spider. With great power comes great responsibility, you know who he is.
Returning as the main character, the original Spidey will also dawn his iconic black Symbiote Suit for a good chunk of the game, showcasing the aggressive side of Peter that fans love.
Miles Morales
The new Spidey in town and Peter Parker’s protege. Miles returns as the secondary protagonist of the game and you will frequently switch between him and Peter during your playthrough. He gained his powers during the first game after being bit by a genetically modified spider from Norman Osborn’s secret lab. Along with physical boons similar to Peter, Miles also gained “venom powers”, not the alien one, which allows him to use bio-electricity for offense and defense.
Mary Jane Watson
Leaving New York at the end of the first game, Mary Jane returns as an investigative journalist for the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man 2 will showcase new development in her and Peter’s relationship.
Venom
The main villain of Spider-Man 2, Venom has long been a fan favorite, and his appearance in the game has been highly anticipated, especially since his appearances in the endings of the first game and Miles Morales.
However, it has been confirmed that Eddie Brock is not the Venom of Spider-Man 2, and that the symbiote has infected someone else.
Kraven the Hunter
The secondary antagonist, Kraven, and his army of hunters, arrives in New York city on the hunt for their next prey. The hunt brings them up against Lizard and Spider-Man, who protects Lizard from the Kraven and his crew.
Maxwell Markham/ Grizzly
Maxwell Markham, better known by his alter ego Grizzly, is a member of Kraven’s team of hunters who came to New York to hunt super powered people.
Harry Osborn
Peter’s best friend, Harry returns to New York after having been shown dealing with a terminal illness in the first game. He plays a pivotal role in Spider-Man 2’s story.
Norman Osborn
Returns as the Mayor of New York, after leaving to care for his terminally ill son, Harry Osborn, in the first game.
J. Jonah Jameson
Making a minor appearance in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the iconic J. Jonah Jameson returns in Spider-Man 2 with all his libelous splendour,
Ganke Lee
Introduced in Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Ganke returns in Spider-Man 2 to provide his tech expertise to Peter in addition to Miles.
Rio Morales
Miles’s mother, Rio was elected to the city council at the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and struggles to come to terms with her son’s life as a supehero,
Aaron Davis/ Prowler
Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis returns as Prowler after ending up in prison at the end of his nephew’s game. Aaron is an important person in Miles’s life, as his nephew looks up to him and helped him give up his villainous ways at the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Curt Connors/ Lizard
One of the targets of Kraven and his group, Dr. Curt Connors turned into this hulking lizard after taking a serum which created in hopes of regaining the arm he lost.
Mister Negative
One of the members of the Sinister Six in the first game, Mr. Negative returns in Spider-Man 2, however his role in the story remains unclear.
Yuriko Watanabe / Wraith
Yuri appears as a captain of the NYPD in Marvel’s the first game, in The City That Never Sleeps expansion, Yuri turns rogue leaves New York. She returns as the anti-heroine named Wraith in Spider-Man 2.
Felicia Hardy / Black Cat
Felicia played a minor role in the first game before becoming a central character in The City That Never Sleeps Expansion, where she faked her death to trick Peter. She returns in Spider-Man 2 and her involvement should cause some drama in Peter and Mary Jane’s relationship.
Tombstone
The biker gang leader makes his return in Spider-Man 2 after ending up in prison in the first game.
Shocker
Another member of the Sinister Six, Shocker returns in Spider-Man 2, with fans hoping for a particular reference.
