Let’s take a glance at whom we will be meeting in Spider-Man 2.

Spider-Man 2 is an open-world action-adventure game with a heavy focus on its story, just like its predecessor. The game is set 10 months after the events of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and this time, you take on the role of both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they try to balance their academic and personal lives with their lives behind the mask as they fight to protect New York City from a number of threats. Such as the iconic villains Venom, Kraven the Hunter, Sandman, etc.

Like the original game, the story is yet another highlight of the game, showcasing one of the best Spider-Man stories in any form of media. The tight character work around Peter, Miles, and Mary Jane still remains. Additionally, the game sees a return of a time recurring character of the series, Harry Osborn, Peter’s best friend.

There are also a number of other fan favorites of the Spider-Man franchise making their first appearance in Insomniac’s Spider-Man series. With all that being said, below is a list of every major character appearing in Spider-Man 2.

Peter Parker

Bitten by a radioactive spider. With great power comes great responsibility, you know who he is.

Returning as the main character, the original Spidey will also dawn his iconic black Symbiote Suit for a good chunk of the game, showcasing the aggressive side of Peter that fans love.

Miles Morales

The new Spidey in town and Peter Parker’s protege. Miles returns as the secondary protagonist of the game and you will frequently switch between him and Peter during your playthrough. He gained his powers during the first game after being bit by a genetically modified spider from Norman Osborn’s secret lab. Along with physical boons similar to Peter, Miles also gained “venom powers”, not the alien one, which allows him to use bio-electricity for offense and defense.

Mary Jane Watson

Leaving New York at the end of the first game, Mary Jane returns as an investigative journalist for the Daily Bugle. Spider-Man 2 will showcase new development in her and Peter’s relationship.

Venom

The main villain of Spider-Man 2, Venom has long been a fan favorite, and his appearance in the game has been highly anticipated, especially since his appearances in the endings of the first game and Miles Morales.

However, it has been confirmed that Eddie Brock is not the Venom of Spider-Man 2, and that the symbiote has infected someone else.

Kraven the Hunter

The secondary antagonist, Kraven, and his army of hunters, arrives in New York city on the hunt for their next prey. The hunt brings them up against Lizard and Spider-Man, who protects Lizard from the Kraven and his crew.

Maxwell Markham, better known by his alter ego Grizzly, is a member of Kraven’s team of hunters who came to New York to hunt super powered people.

Harry Osborn

Peter’s best friend, Harry returns to New York after having been shown dealing with a terminal illness in the first game. He plays a pivotal role in Spider-Man 2’s story.

Norman Osborn
