Worlds 2021 is going to be relocated from China to Europe. Here is what we know

About half a day ago, it was widely being reported that Worlds 2021 will be shifted to Europe. The official announcement came in a while ago confirming the rumors. The announcement was posted on YouTube and briefly explained their reasoning behind it. You can watch the announcement video from the link below.

From the video, we learned that the decision was made due to travel restrictions for the new Covid variant. It was going to be really hard to get all the teams and players to the tournament if it were to be held in China. Hence, Riot had to make the call to switch it to Europe

We do not know much about the specifics of the tournament such as where in Europe it will be held and so on. With this decision, Riot hopes to have the maximum participants they can as the travel restrictions for Europe are less strict.
