Preseason 2023 is adding and changing a lot of elements in the game. We are getting new items, a welcome change but mired with balance issues. Goliath’s Ascendiary is one of the new Mythics being added to the game.
With new Mythic items, Riot is trying to diversify the Mythic Portfolio and add more items in the process. Goliath’s Ascendiary will be one of those items that will shake up the state of the game. Let’s talk about what we know of Goliath’s Ascendiary so far.
Goliath’s Ascendiary: The New Mythic
Goliath’s Ascendiary is one of the many new mythic items that are being introduced to League of Legends. It is designed from the ground up to be a tank item. It has unique mechanics, such as gaining hp when killing minions. The exact specifics of the item are as follows.
- 800 Health
- 200% Base Health Regeneration
- 20 Ability Haste
- Colossal Consumption (Item Active): Charge up a powerful attack against a champion over 3 seconds while within 600 range of them. The charged attack drains the target, dealing 50 + 10% of your maximum health as bonus physical damage and healing you for that same amount. You permanently gain maximum health equal to 15% of the drain (30-second cooldown per target) (note: Maximum health will be lost if the item is sold).
- Mythic Passive: Grants all other Legendary items 1% increased health and 6% champion size.
Looking at the item, it looks like a tank item. Champions like Sion and Mundo will benefit from this item. Gaining maximum health is a huge benefit making tanks much harder to kill. With a 30-second cooldown per target, that should be a decent amount of health added from the item.
The item will add more health to a tank all across the board, and every tank player should be happy about it. Do remember that all numbers and abilities are subject to change with testing on PBE and Preseason live later on.
