We guide you on how to turn off crossplay matchmaking while playing Halo Infinite Multiplayer
No matter how great Halo Infinite’s gameplay is and how great a feature crossplay is. Every good thing comes with some sort of disadvantages. Likewise, Halo Infinite’s crossplay is annoying a lot of console gamers mainly because of cheaters and hackers from the PC platforms. Making their experience quite sour. Moreover, many players might just want to stick to their own platforms while matchmaking. For fairness’ sake. As controller players often get outplayed by keyboard and mouse due to their lesser mobility.
In this guide, we summarise how to disable crossplay for Halo Infinite or make sure that you match up with players with the same setup.

Turn Off Crossplay in Halo Infinite
PC players cannot turn off cross-paly in Halo Infinite. What can they do instead, is change matchmaking in terms of input: Keyboard/Mouse or Controller. While you will still match up with console players, you will at least be playing against players with the same peripherals. The process is:

- Go to the Multiplayer Menu.
- Select Ranked Arena.
- Set Ranked Queue to Solo/Duo
- From the input tab select either Controller or Keyboard/Mouse
This is probably done intentionally because both consoles and PC supports this game with both the input devices. Additionally, this will only affect crossplay mode.
Turning off crossplay on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
Unfortunately, you cannot turn off crossplay directly from within the game, the crossplay section has only one option, which is enabling cross-play. So as a solution, you can change the input devices the same as mentioned above, you will still be matching up against both PC and console players. Keep in mind that this could sometimes lead to longer wait times as you are narrowing down your options.
There is another workaround for Xbox owners. This might also result in longer wait times. For this workaround, you will turn off a setting that turns off matchmaking outside of the Xbox Live network from your console’s settings. Hence, not only this will turn off crossplay in Halo Infinite but also on all games. To do this you should:

- Go to your Xbox Settings and choose the Account option
- Select Privacy & Online Safety. From here select Xbox Live privacy
- Select Custom and go to View Details and Customize
- Select Communication & Multiplayer
- Switch the “You can play with people outside of Xbox Live” to Block
With that, no games will matchmake outside of your Xbox console. So if you want to play crossplay on other games, make sure to turn this on again.
