Palworld is a monster-taming game inspired by Pokémon and games like Minecraft and Ark: Survival Evolved. It puts you in a sandbox world with cutesy monsters known as Pals. You can craft, build, capture Pals, use guns to take down Pals, put Pals to labor, and much more.

Naturally, you’ll want to team up with other players and your friends in large open games like these. Thankfully, Palworld offers multiplayer modes that allow you to play with large and small groups of people.
In this guide, we look at how to play multiplayer in Palworld, how to start a co-op, and how to join one.
How to Join a Multiplayer Server
Palworld has multiplayer dedicated servers that support up to 32 players. However, this is exclusive to the Steam version of the game. Xbox players and PC players with the game pass version of the game only have access to the 4-player co-op mode. (This is subject to change, as the game is in early access right now).
To access the dedicated server browser, select “Join Multiplayer Game” from the Main Menu. You’ll find a list of all servers currently available to join. You can also input a server’s IP Address to join the server.
After you’ve joined a server, you’ll be taken to the character creation screen, and then you’ll be able to select a starting location.
Co-op (1-4 players)
Besides joining a multiplayer server, you can also start a co-op server to play with up to 3 friends.
How to Start a Co-op Game
To start a co-op game, you’ll have to enable Multiplayer in World Settings when starting a new world or in the “Start Game” menu. Furthermore, you can also convert an existing single-player world to multiplayer by changing its world settings.
Then, once you’ve started the world and entered the game, you can go to options to view the invite code to your world. This is the code that your friends can use to join your world.
How to Join a Co-op Game
To join a co-op game, select “Join Multiplayer Game (Invite Code)” on the main menu and enter the invite code of the world you want to join.
