Grab the Souls classic weapon, the Zweihander, early in the Elden Ring. Mow down enemies in style and sheer power.
Elden Ring carries on the FromSoftware and Soulsborne formula of punishingly difficult enemies, bosses, and with that, a vast collection of weapons to wield. Some even have their own move sets. Additionally, there are always some recurring weapons that are fan favorites, and one of them is the Zweihander.
Anyone playing Elden Ring would want to gather all the powerful armaments as quickly as possible to gain the upper hand. Although collecting weapons requires grinding/exploration, the Zweihander can be obtained quite early on in Elden Ring. This is a massive two-handed sword that not only looks powerful, but it also is.
Everyone should start to look for the Zweihander as soon as they start playing Elden Ring. And this guide will help you do just that.

Zweihander weapon stats and use
The Zweihander is a Colossal class sword with slow speed but balanced out with significant damage. Furthermore, it can also make a thrusting attack that allows you to attack from a reasonable distance. The high attack and its move set can also break enemy stance. The Zweihander main stats are:
- Physical Attack: 141
- Critical ‘Crit’ Damage: 100
- Strength Rank: D
- Dexterity Rank: D
- Weight: 15.5
Apart from these, the minimum strength and dexterity requirements to wield this weapon are 19 and 11, respectively. Even though the base stats cannot inflict any elemental damage such as Fire, Magic, Holy, etc., you can upgrade from the Blacksmith and see what benefits you receive.
Finally, the two valuable traits of this giant sword are it has great guard negation for two-handed users and “Stamp” Ash of War. Stamp is an ability that can dismiss regular enemy attacks, and this can further be combo-ed by heavy attacks, which will deal severe damage and send smaller enemies flying.
Zweihander Location in Elden Ring
Getting the Zweihander is really easy.
When you start the game, you will be at Limgrave. Head south of this region, and look for the ‘Bridge of Sacrifice.’ Cross this bridge and keep walking along the trail, and when you reach the split road, take the left path and continue moving. Soon you will reach the ‘No Man’s Land Merchant Shack.’ Clear any enemies you find along the way to grind for Runes and level up your character so that they meet the minimum requirements for the weapon.
At the Merchant Shack, speak with the merchant to buy the Zweihander for 3500 Runes and try to grind for as many Runes as possible on the way to the merchant.
This is how you can get the Zweihander early in Elden Ring. The requirements may sound scary, but as you play the game, you will go beyond those in no time. So take a run with the DarkSouls legend, Zweihander, as soon as you can and become a powerhouse. It will serve you reliably for a long time in the game and keep it upgraded to match the difficulty as you progress more into the world.
