Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 looks to captivate both newcomers to the franchise and long-time fans.
You’ll step into the boots of a Space Marine to defend the Imperium of Man, battling hordes of Tyranids, as well as Heretic Space Marines.
A Space Marine is recognized by their iconic Power Armor, and you’ll be able to customize your Space Marine’s armor.
A Space Marine’s different Armor sets reflect its class as well as the Chapter it belongs to.
The Imperium of Man has many different Chapters, each with its own set of armor and colours. Moreover, in PvP, you can play as Heretic Space Marines, who also have their own sets of armor.
So whether you want to represent one of the iconic Chapters or want to mix and match to create your own unique look, the customization in Space Marine 2 is sure to satisfy any fan of the series.
In this article, we’ll look at how you get started customizing the armor of your space marine.
How to Unlock Armor Customization
To get access to Armor Customization, you’ll first need to complete Rain of Terror, which is the tutorial mission.
After completing the mission, you’ll be taken to the Battle Barge, where you’ll gain access to the Armoring Hall, where you can change and customize your Space Marine’s Armor.
At the landing bay, interact with the console overlooking the hanger. On the menu, select Operations or Eternal War. Select any mission or game hub, and you’ll be taken to that mode’s hub. There, you can access the Armoring Hall.
How to Customize Armor

Select the class you want to change the appearance of and select Edit Armor. From here, you can view and select all available armor sets. You can also choose custom armor sets and Astartes Chapters to give your Space Marine a unique look.
To create custom armor sets, select any of the 4 Custom Armor Set slots at the bottom of the Armor Sets catalogue then set the armor piece for each part.
To select a custom armor color, select Edit Armor, and go to the Astartes Chapter Tab. Chapter colors will have to be unlocked in the Astartes Heraldry.
You can also set custom Chapter patterns by selecting 4 Custom Armor Set slots at the bottom of the Astartes Chapters catalogue. Then, select customization options under Custom Rules.
Keep in mind this customization only applies to your Operations and PvP character.
Furthermore, you can customize Chaos Space Marines for Eternal War. In Eternal War PvP mode, go to the Armoring Hall and select Edit Armor. Then, select Heretic Astartes on the right side to access the customization of Chaos Space Marines.
You can unlock new Armor by completing Operations missions. These unlocked Armor will carry over to Eternal War (PvP) as well.
You also unlock Chapter Armor at the Astartes Heraldry using Armory Data. Armor within each set must be brought progressively from left to right, in a clockwise manner. You can get Armory Data by completing Operations and matches of Eternal War.
