This guide focuses on building a Seed Garden so you can start planting crops and cultivating.
Building a Seed Garden
Crafting a Shovel
The first step in building a seed garden is to dig soil. To do this, you’ll need a shovel.
To craft a shovel, you’ll need to have a Lumber Mill built so you can turn Wood into Wooden Rods and Planks. Once you have 3x Wooden Rods and 1x Plank, you can craft a shovel. You can then dig for soil by aiming at any grassy spot.
Getting Fertilizer
Next, you’ll need some Fertilizer. Look for groups of domesticated animals such as cows and sheep. You can frequently find fertilizer in the ground near them.
You can also encourage these animals to produce Fertilizers by feeding them foods such as vines, pumpkins, berries, or corn.
Garden Plots
Once you have 2x Soil and 1x Fertilizer, you can create a garden plot by following the steps below:
- Enter Building Mode
- Go to the Utility Category
- Select Garden Plot and place it where you want to grow food.
Planting Seeds
Once you’ve placed a Garden Plot, you can start planting seeds to grow crops. Seeds can be found in the wild, dropped by monsters, or in chests. However, a more efficient way to get seeds is to build a Grain Mill, which can turn crops into seeds. Once you have your seeds, you can interact with your Garden Plot to plant them.
