The newest map of MW2, the Himmelmatt Expo, has finally been added to Modern Warfare 2 Ranked Play mode for control and SnD.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2’s Season 2 introduced the most awaited Ranked Play game mode. Ranked Play allows players to fight in a competitive setting for a Rank to find out where they stand compared to other players in the community.

Ranked Play is essentially the same multiplayer experience with the added touch of CDL rules and regulations. It features three game modes- Search and Destroy, Control, and Hardpoint. Moreover, the game mode features 4v4 instead of the core 6v6.

There are seven maps in Ranked Play, with the latest addition being the newest map, Himmelmatt Expo. Himmelmatt Expo is the most recent map added to the game with the Season 2 Reloaded update.

Himmelmatt Expo Arrives at Ranked Play

Ranke Play currently features seven maps, six for SnD and four for Control game modes. The newest map added to the map pool of the two game modes is the Himmelmatt Expo.

Treyarch’s most recent tweet stated that the new Himmelmatt Expo would be added to Ranked Play for Control and SnD. Later on, player feedback on the map’s effectiveness in Ranked Play will help CDL and the pros decide whether or not the map will be a permanent part of the CDL map rotation.

While players always love the prospect of a new map in CoD titles, the Himmelmatt Expo has garnered mixed reactions from the community. The map is quite large compared to other maps in the map rotation.

As Ranked Play is a 4v4 game mode, players will face difficulties while making rotations or spawning in the Expo map. In addition, a map with long rotation routes and flank opportunities makes it harder for players to opt for creative or risky plays.

The map’s presence in Ranked Play for the remaining portion of Season 2 Reloaded will determine whether the map will be a permanent part of the map rotation with the Season 3 update.
