HoYoverse recently revealed lots of info about the new upcoming 4-star Genshin Impact character Layla.
Genshin Impact v3.2 update came out more than a week ago. The new update gave us new Sumeru main story, events, Character, and Weapon banners. We also got the Scaramouche/Balladeer weekly boss.
For the first phase banners, we got Nahida and Yoimiya along with their signature banners. According to some sources, the Nahida and Yoimiya banner broke all previous sales records as players are pulling for the cute Dendro Archon.
But, Genshin Impact v3.2 second phase banners is only a few days away, and the new 4-star character for the banner is Layla. Recently, HoYoverse released lots of info about Layla, including some basic info, Ascension Mats, Talents, Story, Voice Lines, Favorite Food, Hobbies, and more.

Layla Introduction:
Layla is a Sumeru character and a 4-star Cryo sword user. She is a Rtawahist student who specializes in Theoretical Astrology. Layla suffers from somnambulism and is prone to sleep deprivation. Layla can provide shields for the party and deal damage even when off-field. She scales off HP so giving her HP artifacts will be beneficial.

Normal Attack: Sword of the Radiant Path
Normal Attack
Performs up to 3 rapid strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Nights of Formal Focus
Puts forth a shield known as the Curtain of Slumber, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
The Curtain of Slumber’s DMG Absorption is based on Layla’s Max HP and absorbs Cryo DMG with 250% effectiveness. Layla also becomes affected by Cryo for a short time when the Curtain of Slumber is created.
Night Stars and Shooting Stars
While the Curtain of Slumber is active, it will create 1 Night Star that will be attached to it every 1.5s. When a character protected by this shield uses an Elemental Skill, 2 Night Stars will be created. Night Stars can be created once every 0.3s in this way. A maximum of 4 Night Stars can be accumulated at any one time.
Once 4 Night Stars have been accumulated and there are opponents nearby, these Night Stars will transform into homing Shooting Stars that will be fired off in sequence, dealing Cryo DMG to any opponents hit.
If the Curtain of Slumber’s duration ends or it is destroyed, the Night Stars will disappear. If they are already being fired off as Shooting Stars, these Shooting Stars will last until this wave of shots ends. New Night Stars cannot be created until the previous wave of Shooting Stars has been fired completely.
Elemental Burst:
Dream of the Star-Stream Shaker
Unleashes a Celestial Dreamsphere that constantly fires Starlight Slugs at opponents within its AoE,
dealing Cryo DMG. When a Starlight Slug hits, it will generate 1 Night Star for nearby Curtains of Slumber. Each Curtain of Slumber can gain 1 Night Star this way every 0.5s.
Story:
The Rtawahist Darshan of the six Darshans under the Sumeru Akademiya is dedicated to the study of Illuminationism. Each of the Six Darshans focuses on a different field of study. Illuminationism, then, is centered around astrology and astronomy, learning of the cosmos that has clutched the world in its embrace since time immemorial. It is among the researchers of Illuminationism that we find Layla.
Though she has only recently enrolled, she has already earned a great many nicknames for herself. She has been called the Sleepwalking Eccentric, the Human Calculator, and even the Heaven-Sent Thesis by those who know her.
As the days go by, her titles only seem to grow in number.

Layla’s Hobbies
Drawing Star Charts is really tiring work… I really don’t think I’d be able to keep at it if it wasn’t something I’m interested in. You have to use a ruler, then do some calculations on paper, then check past Starlogs… Before you know it, the whole day is gone. But then when I look at the finished product, a huge, neatly drawn, accurate map of the stars…it always gives me a huge sense of accomplishment.
