Genshin Impact is finally introducing an Anemo Shield in Genshin Impact 5.3 according to the leakers. Here’s everything you need to know about Lanyan!
The close Beta Tests for version 5.3 has started this week and there are a lot of leaks and rumors going around on the internet. While Mavuika, Citlali, and Pyro traveler are the key focus points, Hoyoverse is also introducing their first ever Anemo shielder named Lanyan.
She is going to be a 4-star Anemo Shield, Sub-DPS, and Support (at C6). If the rumors are true then she also possesses some travel improvement kit which I will discuss later. Lanyan would be the first shield character in Anemo’s history and I think she might have some links with the adeptus coming soon in the game.
While she is still in early beta tests and there would be certain changes before her initial release. But I have gathered all the proven leaks of Lanyan. So without further ado, let’s dive into the details, shall we?
Lanyan Kit (Based on Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks)
Keep in mind that all of the following information is leaks and rumors found across the community. None of these are official release from Hoyoverse. Therefore, take everything with a grain of salt.
Lanyan is going to be a catalyst character. But similar to how Arlecchino uses a polearm but her actual weapon is a Scythe, Lanyan will use Charkam as her weapons. This already provides her with unique set of attack animations. Being a 4 star she won’t get a burst animation but the in game animations are off the charts.
Normal Attack
She will perform 4 anemo infused attacks with her Charkam. Hold version/Charged attack will make her perform a 360 rotation dealing Anemo DMG. Her plunge attacks are similar to all the other Anemo catalyst users in the game.
Elemental Skill
Upon press, Lanyan will make a forward dash and throw her Charkam. If she hits an opponent she leaps in the air and by pressing the normal attack or elemental skill button she will throw her Feather Moon Rings. These rings will deal Anemo damage and swirl around the opponent. These rings will be the key source of her damage. You can hold the skill to pinpoint Lanyan’s dash.
Once she hits an opponent she will generate an Anemo Shield. When this shield comes in contact with another element Lanyan will provide an elemental shield of that element (happens in elemental burst). The element she absorbs will have a higher resistance to attacks similar to that element.
Elemental Burst
For her burst, Lanyan provides an AoE nuke of three instances of Anemo damage that swirls elements and provides a shield of that element for her. It also pulls enemies closer similar to how Kazuha’s elemental skill works.
