Everything you need to know about the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite.
Fortnite has had many weapons in and out of rotation throughout the years, some very powerful, and others not so much.

Where to Find Kinetic Blade

You can easily find a Kinetic Blade in chests and on the ground, as it is a part of the floor loot. Moreover, you can also find them on unique blade stands. You can also buy them from certain NPCs by spending gold bars.
Instead of wandering aimlessly, try searching for a Kinetic Blade in Points of Interest, i.e named locations.
Kinetic Blades come in two rarities: Rare and Epic.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade
The Kinetic Blade has two attacks. Its primary attack is a short-range double slash, and the second slash knocks back enemies, allowing you to switch to a ranged weapon to finish them off. This attack is not cancellable and has a long animation, so make sure to jump and move around while you’re using it so that you’re harder to hit.
The secondary attack of the Kinetic Blade is a lunging Dash Attack. It travels up to 40 meters and hits enemies up to 25 meters. It has 3 charges and 10 seconds of cooldown per Charge. You can use the dash attack to deal very good damage, and a double slash followed by a dash attack or two makes for a devastating combo.
You can also dive into enemies using the dash attack, knock them back using the double slash, and finish them off, if they’re still alive, with a shotgun or SMG.
Moreover, you can also the Kinetic Blade’s dash attack as mobility tool to escape combat. It’s an excellent mobility weapon, though not as mobile as the Typhoon Blade.
Kinetic Blades come in two rarities: Rare and Epic. The stats for the Kinetic Blade are given below:
Move | How to Perform | Damage | Charges |
---|---|---|---|
Double Slash | Primary Fire | 35 | None |
Dash Attack | Secondary Fire | 60 | 3 Charges 10s Cooldown per Charge |
Kinetic Blade Durability

Unfortunately, the Kinetic Blade comes with a change that significantly hampers its usability. Each Dash Attack reduces its durability by 5%, and after 20 Dash Attacks, it will break, and you’ll need to find a new Kinetic Blade. The durability meter can be seen next to the weapon bar. You can also see the durability of a Kinetic Blade when you find it as loot.
While some fans loathe this change, others applaud it, as mobility weapons such as the Kinetic Blade and Typhoon Blade can feel overpowered at times.
