Fortnite recently made some changes to the Primal Shotgun and Makeshift to make the game feel more balanced.
Fortnite introduced the Primal Shotgun and the Makeshift shotgun at the beginning of Season 6. Players were quick to realize that the Primal Shotgun had a fast fire rate and decent magazine size. Soon, every lobby had players running around with the Primal Shotgun eliminating opponents way too quickly for Fortnite’s standards. Many pro players demanded Epic to Nerf the Primal Shotgun as it was very hard to counter.
Another shotgun that was introduced in Season 6 was the Makeshift shotgun. The Makeshift shotgun was supposed to used temporarily until players find a better one or upgrade the Makeshift to the Primal or the Mechanical variants. But the Makeshift Shotgun was so bad and unreliable that players soon started to completely skin picking up the Makeshift Shotgun at all. This made the shotguns have a very weird place in the Season 6 meta.
