Epic Games addressed the situation through the official Fortnite Status account, saying it has heard the community’s concerns and is preparing several changes over time. The first confirmed change is a refund option for anyone who purchased the D4vd cosmetics.
Fortnite Confirms D4vd Cosmetic Refunds
Starting April 28, players who own one of these items will be able to get an immediate self-service refund. That means players should not need to go through the usual refund ticket system once the option goes live.
Epic also confirmed that D4vd cosmetic refunds are already available through player support. So, if you bought any of the items and want them removed from your account, you can request it now rather than waiting for the in-game refund option.
Fortnite Is Offering Refunds for D4vd Items
The refund option comes after growing backlash from the Fortnite community over D4vd-related cosmetics after the singer was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his ex-girlfriend. Players had been asking Epic Games to respond to the situation, especially after renewed discussion around the artist and the controversy connected to him.
Fortnite has not said that the cosmetics are being permanently removed from the game. For now, Epic has only confirmed that refunds are being offered and that more changes are planned over time.
