The Descent
Season of the Deep launched on May 23, 2023, offering Guardians a thrilling new campaign experience. Serving as the sole campaign for Season 21, the Into the Depths storyline takes players back to Titan, where they reunite with Sloane.
Throughout the Season, Guardians will delve into the secrets hidden within Titan, seeking knowledge that could aid them in their conflict against The Witness. To kickstart the Into the Depths campaign, players must first complete The Descent, an introductory mission.
This mission will automatically launch when you enter for the first time in Destiny 2 during Season 21. However, if the mission doesn’t initiate, you can find The Descent on the H.E.L.M. The mission itself entails battling Taken and Hive and locating Sloane on Titan.
The Align the Communication Array puzzle may cause a slight hiccup for Guardians. To solve it, examine the small monitor on each dish and identify the triangle symbol. Interact with each dish until the screen transitions from red to blue, focusing on the inner part of the triangle.
Into the Depths – Week 1
Into the Depths – Week 1 begins with essential tasks that set the stage for the Season of the Deep campaign. Start by speaking with Drifter via the holoprojector in the H.E.L.M., gaining crucial information for the journey ahead. Engage in the Salvage activity, showcasing one of the new seasonal features.
Then, tackle the mission “Operation Thunderbolt,” immersing yourself in the engaging gameplay loop of the campaign. Once completed, deliver the coral to Sloane in the H.E.L.M., reinforcing your connection to the unfolding story. Communicate with Sloane via the holoprojector to further unravel the mysteries of the deep. Don’t forget to claim the “Deep Challenger” Seasonal Challenge, which brings additional rewards and objectives.
Into the Depths – Week 2
Week 2 of the Season of the Deep campaign, Into the Depths, brings new tasks and activities. Talk to Zavala through the holoprojector in the H.E.L.M. to learn important information about the task. Take part in the Salvage activity again, but use the matchmaking feature for a seamless experience.
Start the “Mayday, Mayday” mission, a solo quest that requires good navigation and combat skills. Prepare for sections requiring to add clearing and a boss fight against a formidable Wizard. Equipping a long-range weapon such as a Rocket Launcher with the Tracking Module perk is recommended to deal with the Wizard effectively.
After you finish the task, you can hear an important conversation in the H.E.L.M. that reveals more about the story. Deliver the coral to Sloane in the H.E.L.M. and talk to her through the holoprojector, which will make you feel more connected to the story.
