Usually, gangs rule via violence and push weapons and narcotics. Although they are often at war with other gangs and between themselves, the authorities have difficulty dealing with them.

Moreover, authorities in Cyberpunk typically let gangs operate and do not use deadly force unless their activity rises to an uncontrollable level, threatening public safety. Furthermore, the gangs operating within the Night City are easier to deal with than other criminals due to their predictable activities.

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can associate yourself with gangs by doing quests for them. However, you cannot join them. That said, you can build a good relationship by routinely doing their quests.

This guide aims to inform you about the gangs of Night City, including the gang’s structure and the various types of gangs.

Gang Structure in Cyberpunk 2077

Each gang has an HQ, or Den, which is heavily guarded and serves as a meeting point and safe haven. Furthermore, they store large amounts of cash and other resources, which are watched over by the head of the gang.

The gangs are usually divided into a linear hierarchy, the levels of which are shown below.

  • Chief, Warlord, Hardest Man: They are heads of the gangs, and their orders are final.
  • Lieutenant: They carry out the orders of the Chief and usually have more power than other members.
  • Hardcore Members/Full-timers – general members of a gang that have served their gangs for quite some time. They typically report to their Lieutenants.
  • Affiliates/ Part-timers: This is where new members start off and work their way up using their skills and loyalty.

Types of Gangs in Cyberpunk 2077

There are 13 types of gangs in Cyberpunk 2077. These are:

Combat Gang

Combat gangs are centered around rituals, ranks, and body armor. Most of them spend their time fighting and often declare wars that can go on indefinitely.

Cult Gang

Dedicated to a belief or ideology, cult gangs pursue their goals with great commitment. They are extremists who will do anything to see their objectives come to fruition.

Dorph Gangs

These gangs use endorphins during combat and to spread chaos.

These gangs usually function as foster families for runaway children and orphans. The “adults” run the gangs and protect the turf, while the younger members perform their duties as street urchins to provide for the family. These gangs are extremely territorial and protective of their members.

Go Gang

These are the biker gangs of Night City.

Guardian Gangs

These gangs are formed in reaction to violence from other gangs and are made up of local vigilantes. They are usually peaceful and only act in protection of their territory and area.

Hate Gang
