Pearl Abyss has started deploying patch 1.13.00 for Crimson Desert on July 3rd, 2026, and it is the kind of update that quietly reshapes how a big chunk of the playerbase experiences the game. The main highlight of this patch is that Oongka and Damiane can enter the Abyss, and there is a fresh wave of outfits, dyeable gear got a serious expansion, and the usual round of bug fixes and stability improvements came along for the ride. Dig into the notes, though, and there is a lot more going on than that summary lets on.
If you are on console, you will spot this download listed as Crimson Desert update 1.000.379, so do not panic if the version number looks different from the PC side.
Platform Availability: Who Can Play Right Now
RAs of launch, Steam on PC and PlayStation both have the patch available now, while Steam on Mac, Xbox, the Epic Games Store, and the Mac App Store are still marked in progress and set to arrive at a later time. So if you are hopping on through Xbox or Epic and the update has not landed yet, that is expected rather than a problem on your end.

One heads up worth flagging for Epic players specifically. Due to a platform-related issue, Epic Games Store users may be required to download a large amount of data when installing this patch. Clear some drive space before you queue it up.
Oongka and Damiane Can Finally Enter the Abyss
This is the change most people clicked in for, and it is a meaningful one. Starting from version 1.13.00, players can now explore the Abyss as both Damiane and Oongka, and the two can solve puzzles there just like Kliff. Pearl Abyss has been slowly widening the pool of content that is not locked exclusively behind Kliff, and this feels like the biggest step yet in that direction.

There is a knock-on effect to be aware of before you dive in. Because the Abyss is now open to the other two, the locations of Memory Fragments for certain rematchable bosses have been changed, and the devs tucked the specifics behind a spoiler dropdown to keep late-game surprises intact. If you were mid grind on boss rematches, expect to relearn a few spots.
The studio also cleaned up the friction that used to come with forced Kliff moments. The character switch UI shown in situations that can only be progressed with Kliff has been improved, which makes bouncing between the trio feel far less clunky than before.
New Outfits and 39 Fresh Pieces of Equipment
Cosmetic and gear hunters ate well this patch. Kliff and Oongka received 39 new pieces of equipment, including boss equipment, obtainable through quests, achievements, shops, and other sources. On top of that, Oongka can now equip most outfits that were previously available to Kliff, so his wardrobe just got a massive upgrade overnight.

Damiane was not left out either. She can now equip a selection of boss equipment, and community testing has already surfaced some standout sets. Players are reporting access to the armors worn by Cassius Morten, Lucian Bastier, Tarandus the Ashen, and Gregor, the Halberd of Carnage. If you have been chasing that villain drip, those are the ones to go after.
Dyeable Equipment Options Get a Big Expansion
The dye system was one of those areas that felt oddly restrictive at launch, and this update loosens it up nicely. Certain disguise outfits that could not be dyed can now be dyed, and most weapons and secondary weapons have been improved so they can now be dyed, too. So, that is a huge quality of life win for anyone who cares about matching a full look rather than settling for whatever palette a weapon ships with.

Pearl Abyss also tightened the interface around it so items that cannot be dyed can no longer be selected in the Dye UI, which cuts down on the trial and error of figuring out what actually accepts color.
Quality of Life Additions Worth Knowing About
A few smaller touches are easy to miss but genuinely nice to have. There is a new Hunter’s Sigil item that lets a bird pet retrieve prey and gatherable items suited to their specialties when equipped, and summoned pets will now rest together with your character when you rest in a bed. Photographers and immersion fans will appreciate the new Hide Minimap and Status option under Settings, Others, Gameplay, which lets you clear the minimap and status HUD from view.

Combat got a fun tweak as well. Muskets and pistols can now be fired while sliding, so there is a little extra flair on the table for gunslinger builds.
Bug Fixes and Stability Improvements
The stability pass is where a lot of the real relief lives. Pearl Abyss knocked out some of the more frustrating crashes, fixing an issue where a crash would occasionally occur when opening the map and another that could trigger during boss rematches. They also addressed occasional longer-than-usual game loading times, which should smooth out those annoying hitches between zones.
It is not completely spotless. A handful of known issues remain, most notably that Greymane faction quests cannot be progressed while playing as Damiane or Oongka, so keep Kliff on standby for that specific content until a future fix lands.

Known Issues

Taken as a whole, 1.13.00 is less about flashy new content and more about opening the game up. Letting Oongka and Damiane loose in the Abyss, freeing up the dye system, and stacking on dozens of new gear pieces all point to Pearl Abyss steadily removing the walls that kept certain characters feeling like sidekicks.
