Pearl Abyss has officially launched Crimson Desert Enhanced, a major free update designed to refine the Greymane’s journey through Pywel. Available as version 2.00.00, the update adds new story moments, additional cutscenes, expanded voice-over and language support, new skills, progression improvements, and every major post-launch addition released so far.
Existing owners of Crimson Desert do not need to purchase a new edition. Crimson Desert Enhanced is provided at no additional cost and is automatically included after updating the base game to the latest version.
In brief
- Crimson Desert Enhanced is a free update for existing owners of the game.
- New cutscenes, conversations, story moments, and narrative details have been added across the main quest.
- German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese voice-over support is now available, alongside Arabic interface and subtitle support.
- Version 2.00.00 also adds eight new Kliff skills and significantly reworks skill progression.
Crimson Desert Enhanced Expands the Main Story
One of the biggest focuses of the Enhanced update is improving how Crimson Desert’s main story unfolds.

Pearl Abyss says it has improved the narrative flow of the main storyline while adding new cutscenes and story moments throughout the main questline. Additional knowledge entries, items, memory fragments, dialogue, and conversations have also been introduced to strengthen the stories surrounding certain bosses.
Five New Voice Languages Added to Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert Enhanced also considerably expands the game’s localization options.
Full voice-over support has been added for:
- German
- French
- Spanish
- Brazilian Portuguese
- Japanese
Arabic has also been added as a supported game language for the interface and subtitles.
The expanded localization should make Crimson Desert significantly more accessible to players across several major markets.
New Kliff Skills and a Reworked Skill Progression System
Story improvements are only part of version 2.00.00. Pearl Abyss has also made substantial changes to character progression.

The update introduces Abyss Link, a new skill-learning resource. When one character uses Abyss Artifacts to unlock a skill, the other playable characters receive an equivalent number of Abyss Links. Skill progression can also now be reset separately for individual characters instead of forcing players to reset everyone at once.
Kliff has received eight new skills, which become available after reaching certain points in the main story.
Players should also be aware that existing skill progression will reset the first time they launch the game following the update, although Pearl Abyss says previously spent resources will be refunded.
Crimson Desert Has Already Changed Significantly Since Launch
The “Enhanced” branding also packages months of previous Crimson Desert updates into the current experience.

According to Pearl Abyss, the game received 17 patches, more than 20 new features and content additions, 120 new mounts and pets, and 70 new outfits, equipment pieces, and items leading up to the Enhanced update.
Previous updates introduced additions such as Boss Rematches, new skills, difficulty settings, controller remapping, wyvern mounts, housing customization, new minigames, cross-save support, additional outfits, pets, equipment, and numerous quality-of-life improvements.
Crimson Desert Enhanced Is a Free Update for Existing Players
Players who already own Crimson Desert simply need to update the game to version 2.00.00 to access Crimson Desert Enhanced at no additional cost. The patch has rolled out across Steam on PC and Mac, PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store, while Pearl Abyss listed the Mac App Store version as arriving later when the patch notes were published.
Rather than treating Enhanced as a separate release, Pearl Abyss is effectively consolidating Crimson Desert’s post-launch evolution into a refined version of the original adventure. With expanded story content, broader language support, new combat options, progression changes, and months of accumulated updates, it is also a considerably different journey through Pywel compared to the game players experienced at launch.
