Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and it’s battle royale Warzone just received the season 4 update on all platforms. And with it came a huge patch update.
Season 4 update size:
- PC (Premium Players): 45GB
- PC (F2P Players): 39.6GB
- Xbox One: 44.3GB
- PS4: 32.5GB
CoD MW and Warzone take up nearly 200GB of storage, which is why players are frustrated with the big updates adding to the overall game size. Some players have even uninstalled the game as it takes a big chunk of their disk space.
But not to worry, as Infinity Ward’s Sr. Communications Manager tweeted out that the large update is there to compress the game files and reduce its overall size. So once the update is installed, the overall file will take up an additional 4GB of space.
Infinity Ward is also trying to search and optimize all the assets in the game to reduce the overall size in future updates, as stated by Ashton Williams. It’s good to know that the developers are aware of this situation and are trying to mitigate this problem for their end-users. Hopefully, we won’t have to delete other games in order to leave space for CoD updates.
