As you go through the story and complete quests, you may encounter various tasks to fulfill in different missions. For example, the “Find the Ketheric Thorm’s Relic” or “Find the Nightsong” mission will make you complete a series of puzzles in Gaunlet of Shar. One of the puzzles is collecting all the Umbral Gems to get into the Inner Sanctum to find the Relic and complete the quest.
Find All Umbral Gems in Gauntlet of Shar in BG3
After heading towards the Thorm’s Mausoleum, players may enter the Gaunlet of Shar to find Balthazar and the Relic. In that process, you might find yourself in some mind-blowing puzzle section of Umbral Gem. The quest will be completed if appropriately completed, and the Relic (Nightsong) will be yours.
After you get all four Umbral Gems, you must place them in the Altars of the Gaunlet of Shar to get to Nightsong.
To find all the Umbral Gems, you may follow the steps below:
Complete all the Sharren Trials
There are precisely four trials for four Umbral Gems. Complete these quickly and correctly to gain all four;
Raphael’s Old Enemy (Yurgir)
This is the first trial where players must explore the East and find the Displacer Beast. Follow the Displacer Beast to get to the right place in the East to find the first Umbral Gem.
As you approach a room, you will meet Yurgir, a devil. He is the old enemy of Raphael, and players must use tactics to convince or persuade him, or they can even kill him. No matter what you do, you may get the Umbral Gem.
Soft-Step Trial
Use the Invisibility option to make yourself and your party members vanish from the eyes of the guarding Shadows. If these guards see you, they can hunt and fight you immensely, which might shed more blood.
However, if you have quietly passed down to the North without making any sound in this first trial, you may notice a door, go towards it, and push it. After that, pick the lock, and players will find the second Umbral Gem there.
Self-Same Trial
This is the third trial to get the second Umbral Gem. In this trial, you will encounter a team of four incredibly same as yours. Fight with yourselves and defeat the fake ones properly. After dealing damage heavily, grab the second Umbral Gem from the ground, and this trial will end.
Faith-Leap Trial
After the Self-Same Trial, head downstairs in the North. Players may find a particular door and use Tactical View on their screen to correctly look at the floor pattern. Complete the floor map puzzle to get to the Umbral Gem.
But remember, sometimes you or your team member may have to draw blood on the sacrificial altar to get all the Gems.
Get all the Umbral Gems and get to the Alter at Gaunlet of Shar to complete relevant quests further, like finding the Nightsong, Relic, and much more!
